We’re proud to share that i3 Simulations has won Gold in Delivering Innovation into Health & Care category at the SEHTA 2026 Healthcare Business AwardsšŸ…šŸ™ŒšŸ»

This recognition reflects years of collaboration with clinicians, healthcare organisations, universities, and partners around the world who believe immersive technology can fundamentally improve how healthcare professionals train, communicate, and prepare for critical moments.

From emergency trauma to maternal emergency to first aid and advanced life support, our mission has always been clear: make high-fidelity AI powered virtual healthcare simulations more accessible, repeatable, and impactful for healthcare training.

Thank you to the SEHTA judges, our collaborators, and the entire i3 team driving this mission forward every day.

This is a milestone, but more importantly, it’s momentum.✨

ā€œSimulation isn’t realistic enough.ā€ ~swipe~
One of the most common myths in healthcare training.

But the evidence says otherwise.

Simulation-based training has been shown to improve clinical performance, reduce errors, and strengthen decision-making under pressure.

Because the goal isn’t to perfectly recreate reality, it’s to prepare teams for it.

In healthcare, a training gap isn’t just an operational challenge. It’s a patient safety risk.

The real question: can we afford not to scale simulation?

Real-world validation matters.

Insights from Dr Josh Sherman, Principal Researcher and clinical leader in paediatric emergency care, continue to reinforce a key challenge across healthcare systems - training is often limited by logistics, not intent.

Resuscitation VR removes that barrier.

No simulation suite. No scheduling constraints. Just a headset and a clinician ready to practise critical scenarios, wherever they are.

Built to make training immersive, accessible, and repeatable - without disrupting clinical workflows.

Because when time is limited, preparation still can’t be.

If you’re looking to expand training capacity without expanding infrastructure, let’s talk.

In obstetric emergencies, communication is care.

Roles, clarity, and coordination determine how quickly and safely teams respond, but under pressure, even experienced teams can break down.

With Resuscitation VR for Obstetrics, multidisciplinary teams train together in realistic scenarios, building not just clinical skills, but how they communicate, prioritise, and act as one.

Clear roles. Closed-loop communication. Real-time decision-making.
All in a safe, repeatable environment with structured feedback.

Because outcomes depend on how well teams work together.

We asked the industry.
And the answer was clear - training needs to change. ~swipe~

In our recent webinar on ā€œAi + XR : The Next Frontier of Healthcare Trainingā€, hosted by our CEO and our CTO Tom Dolby, we analysed that traditional models are struggling to keep up with real world complexity.

This is everything that we learnt from the webinar.
The shift to immersive, adaptive training isn’t coming.
It’s already here šŸ™ŒšŸ»

Most healthcare training isn’t built for real pressure.

Episode 3 of From the CTO’s Desk explores how immersive simulation is preparing teams for moments where decisions matter most.

PPH isn’t just a protocol. It’s a race against time.

It remains the leading cause of maternal mortality worldwide, with ~70,000 deaths each year, most of them preventable.

What changes outcomes?
Instinct. Composure. Muscle memory.

That’s what Resuscitation VR for Obstetrics trains.
Built with Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

See how VR can save lives.

Myth vs Reality šŸ™ŒšŸ» ~swipe~

Healthcare training has a hidden cost problem and most organisations don’t see it until it’s too late.

The NHS spends Ā£4.9 billion annually on workforce training. Up to 200,000 staff days a year are lost to repeated training that doesn’t retain.

Yet simulation is still treated as optional. As something to consider ā€œlater, when the budget allows.ā€

But here’s the reality: the budget is already being spent. The question is whether it’s working.

Training clinicians in ways that don’t reflect real clinical environments isn’t just inefficient, it’s a patient safety risk.

Simulation isn’t a luxury. It’s the infrastructure that makes training actually land.
