As AI agents reshape how businesses operate, payment infrastructure must evolve to enable transactions initiated and completed by agents, not just humans.

When an AI agent reorders stock for a neighbourhood restaurant, a purchase order isn't enough. The agent needs to pay โ€” across cards, bank transfer or stablecoin, without a human clicking confirm. Most payment systems today are still built for people.

FOMO Pay and Google Cloud are working together to bring autonomous, agent-initiated payments to Asia, from intelligent payment infrastructure to early implementations of Googleโ€™s Agent Payment Protocol (AP2). The FOMO AI Soundbox, launched in March 2026, accepts cards, PayNow, e-wallets and stablecoins on a single device. With Google Cloud's AP2 layered on top, a merchant can set a rule: when cabbage stock drops below 10 units, the agent identifies the supplier, reorders, pays on its own.

FOMO Pay is proud to be invited by Google to co-author an article exploring how financial institutions can help SMBs adapt to an agentic economy, where AI agents can increasingly act on behalf of businesses.

Announced today at the Global Fintech Fest 2026, the partnership lets Indian travellers pay with the UPI apps they already use at home, on a network of 500M+ active users and 24 billion monthly transactions.

Indian visitors can now book and pay in Indian Rupee (INR) on the Resorts World Sentosa website, while the merchant settles in Singapore Dollars (SGD). Singapore welcomed 1.2 million Indian visitors in 2025, making India its fifth-largest source market.

"India is one of Singapore's most important and fastest-growing visitor markets, and Indian consumers are among the most digitally savvy in the world. By enabling merchants like Resorts World Sentosa to accept UPI payments, we are helping bridge the gap between how Indian consumers transact at home and how they experience Singapore," said Liu, Pay's Founder & CEO.

Our Founder & CEO Louis Liu joined the panel at the inaugural HSBC Asia Fintech Summit on digital assets, tokenisation and money movement, moderated by David Chong (HSBC) alongside Previn Pillay (Circle), Selene Chong (HSBC), and Joseph Chee (Solana).

At FOMO Pay, our take is that Singapore and Hong Kong are building different halves of the same money movement stack, with Hong Kong's new stablecoin licences driving issuance credibility, while Singapore's MPI framework already pushing payment institutions like us into acceptance and settlement of stablecoins.
