Sharing How a clean install of Windows (Not reset) is part of troubleshooting process | Intel i9 13900K CRC Error Read & Write Error Faulty CPU Core

I did expereince two cases of Intel i9 13900K having issues which in fact is faulty CPU.
First one was easy to identify since whenever you start Windows installer USB.
The USB installer won't load and a System Thread Exception Not Handled error will appear.

Second case was a recent case as usually when you do a clean install of Windows issues may appear.
Clean install of windows meaning format/wipe the drive than install a fresh copy of Windows.
Some users confuse fresh install as Windows reset which in fact are different from another.

What happened in this case was weirdly Windows was able to installed it didn't bluescreen
during the Windows installation process. It got through to desktop which I thought everything
should be OK.

Than when I try to install drivers from manufacturer, weirdly whatever driver package will not extract
and run which include Nvidia graphic card. Nvidia GPU driver will show a CRC error so I assume
it should be the SSD issue so swap to a brand new SSD to test.

OMG the same issue which than I suspect the CPU which is Intel i9 13900K has faulty cores.
So when the CPU try to run or execute programs/app it will failed, I literally spend many hours
trying to figure what was the issue.

This is info sharing if anyone encounter similar issue you will know what to do.
As it's literally very tricky to identify what causes this CRC error so different Windows error will
have different causes behind it.

As well as why a clean install of Windows (Not reset) is part of troubleshooting process.
Cuz during the process if any component has issues it will either BOSD or error appear.
Clean install of Windows is troublesome since you need to spend few hours to setup, install and configure everything.

At least modern Windows are not like Win 7 where it can take half a day to setup mainly due to Windows update.
If anyone has encounter similar errors or faults feel free to share your experience.

For my PC repair which is usually done at customer place.
My service compare with others is quite through which I will check both hardware and software.
Today I had by far the most tricky issue that was very hard to identify.
As it relates to CRC error which usually means a disk error like failure SSD. However today case was by far the most difficult to troubleshoot.
I assume CRC error means SSD has issue however swapping to a brand new CPU the error is there. CRC error which I encounter today was a error that whenever you open a file or program.
It won't open/run so it will either bluescreen or a CRC error will appear.
After spending many hours as well as several attempts to install Windows on different SSD. I have concluded that the user PC which uses a Intel i9 13900K is the cause of the CRC error.
Meaning to say the Intel i9 13900K has faulty core thus whenever it read or write a program/app it will just failed.
Spent about 4 hours only by than the actual fault was identify which was not easy to identify.
My PC repair you can message me here or on Carousell.

Been a while since i updated this FB page.
Whenever I service any PC with AIO Liquid CPU Coolerdepending on the age of the PC. Example more than 5 years I will usually replace the AIO/Liquid CPU Cooler for users.
Today case is a important note for anyone using a old AIO/Liquid CPU cooler which has stop working.
Which cause the CPU to overheat and failed so it no longer able to work properly.
Typically how you notice a AIO/Liquid CPU Cooler isn't working properly.
1) PC can slowdown/throttle during gaming or even shutdown.
2) Touch the AIO unit usually the tubes as well as radiator must be warm. In this case only the pump unit which is the one sitting on top of the CPU is very warm.
Indicating the pump unit has failed after more than 5 years of running.
AIO/Liquid CPU Cooler cooler performance is superb compare with heatsink but it doesn't last very long.
Which is why manufacturers usually give up to 5 years of warranty.
The MTBF (Mean time between failure) is around 3 years depending on usage.
If your rig is still using a AIO that is more than 5 years old opt to change to another AIO or heatsink fan.

ITX/Shoebox PC I rarely service them and I don't really like such build.
Firstly since the footprint is small, there isn't much ventilation.
If the components are high end heat can be trap inside but cases like Cooler Master NR200 are good ITX cases.
Cooler Master NR200 have good airflow hot air are pulled from the top. I like this case as all it's panel can just pop out without need to screw.
Cable management is a issue which I don't think I did a good job.
Since there's no way to route the cables so have to tuck the cables one side.
If anyone wants to know this ITX/Shoebox PC specs is a AMD Ryzen 7 3700 with ASRock B450 ITX motherboard. Paired with Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1660 Super.
It's a upgrade task so after the upgrade the PC works much better than on the older ITX case. This case also allows the graphic card to be plug in directly onto the motherboard.
Not a fan of PCIE Raiser cable as overtime since the cable is bend, the cable can break.
Thus you can encounter issues during gaming that either the game will crash. For ITX build usually I will recommend to build this way.
However there's one thing I still need to figure out and that is which air cooler fits in this case.
I have been looking around but in SG sadly there's no tower heatsink can fit inside this case.

The new Corsair Shift ATX 3.0 power supply with native 12vhpwr cable for Geforce RTX 4000. This is the first power supply to have modular cables at the side instead of usual which is straight into the bottom of the case.
Despite it make cabling easier, cable management is still very difficult. Cuz since the cables are face outwards, so you have to bend and tuck almost all the cable sideways so to close side panel.
Not really a fan of such design hopefully Corsair can release ATX 3.0 with the standard design.

I rarely build a PC like this since most of users I handle.
They want the cheapest as possible PC parts as possible.
Rarely or once a while I will build/repair a mid-range/high end PCs like this.
This case is one no one uses which is Corsair Obsidian 500D.
Put the high price aside which cost $38X, that is right near $400.
Is not really easy nor fun to build a PC with this.
Why? Since both the right and left as well as front panel are glass.
You have to be very careful and slow in building a PC.
The glass panel for both sides can be removed but when removal must be with care.
Took me almost half a day just to build a PC inside this case cuz is big. Is not like a mid-tower where you can flip and turn easily.
So far this is the least easier PC build I have even done.

Let's talk about building a PC using Cooler Master MB530P.
Is a nice looking case but such case the cable management must be very good.
Why? Cuz this case both sides have glass panel, if you notice the other side have a cable management panel to hide all the cables.
This panel is not just to hide messy cables but also prevent any pressure to the glass panel.
That's right if pressure is applied to glass panel it will shattered.
Why I usually prefer Cooler Master case is beacuse it is easy to build a PC with it.
I will share another case which took me the longest time to build a PC.

During gaming if it froze or blue screen, is best not to continue use it and let someone check. Lately I had a difficult repair job, one I would not except.
As usually no display issue is RAM issue, rarely graphic card will spoil. For this user PC, there are many issues and I also suspect the Windows wasn't configured properly.
The breakdown of this PC are:
1) Both sticks of RAM is faulty.
2) Graphic card is faulty, even if the PC can turn on.
There are lines on the screen.
3) Motherboard unable to start, this is the trickest component to troubleshoot. As I had to swap with compatible CPU to make it work than update the BIOS.
4) Windows was clone/ported from another PC thus causing all the issue.
Took about a day to repair this PC and return the repaired PC back to him after I change components as well as did a fresh install of Windows.
A fresh install of Windows will make the PC stable and I have been doing PC repair for very long. Usually how others setup/configure Windows doesn't gurantee stability.
For me when I install Windows, manufacturer driver will be installed for optimal performance and stability.
Most of users who I repaired, rarely come back to me with issues.
