Today, June 6, marks Russian Language Day and the 227th anniversary of the birth of Alexander Pushkin - the poet, writer, and playwright who laid the foundation of modern Russian literary language.

Russian literature has given the world not only remarkable works of art, but also a tradition of reflection, dialogue, and the search for truth through thought rather than slogans. It has taught generations to ask questions, challenge assumptions, and look beyond simple answers.

Perhaps that is why it feels particularly relevant today to talk not about headlines, but about critical thinking.

In recent days, many people outside Russia have expressed concern after reading reports about drone activity and security issues related to Saint Petersburg. Concern is understandable. But concern should never replace understanding.

It is important to remember that Saint Petersburg and the Leningrad Region are two separate administrative territories with different authorities, different responsibilities, and a very different geographic scale. Yet many international headlines merge everything together into one dramatic narrative.

This is not a criticism of any particular media outlet. Media everywhere tends to amplify what attracts attention. Negative news generates clicks, views, engagement, and discussion. That is the nature of modern information spaces.

What concerns me more is the gradual loss of critical thinking.

In a world that moves quickly, Vesak Day gently reminds us to pause, reflect, and choose compassion.

May this day bring peace to your heart, clarity to your mind, and kindness to your actions.

Wishing all who celebrate a meaningful and peaceful Vesak Day.

Eid Mubarak. Hari Raya. Kurban Bayram.

No matter how this beautiful celebration is called across different parts of the world, its spirit remains rooted in faith, compassion, family, and human connection.

On this special occasion, warm wishes are sent to everyone celebrating today - to families, loved ones, communities, and all those gathering in prayer, reflection, and togetherness.

This year feels especially meaningful as Saint Petersburg celebrates 323 years since its founding - a city where cultures, traditions, and faiths have long existed side by side, reminding us that mutual understanding remains one of humanity’s greatest strengths.

To everyone sharing meals with family, gathering around the table, visiting loved ones, or reflecting quietly in their hearts - may this season bring peace, warmth, gratitude, and meaningful moments to every home.

And even for those who may not celebrate this holiday, perhaps moments like this remind us of the importance of approaching one another with openness, curiosity, empathy, and respect.

No matter where we come from, kindness and sincere human connection remain universal.

May this celebration bring peace to homes, strength to communities, and warmth across cultures and generations.

Let us stay united. Let us stay human.

Eid Mubarak.

📚 Book of the Week

Sometimes life gives you experiences you never asked for - but they become the greatest teachers.

This week’s recommendation comes from a very personal place.

“Fragile People: A Hidden Door into the World of Narcissists” by Yulia Pirumova is one of those books that doesn’t just inform you - it explains things you’ve lived through but couldn’t name.

If you’ve ever wondered why someone you loved seemed to drain the room of oxygen, why apologies never came, why everything always circled back to them - this book opens a door you didn’t even know was there.

This is not an ad. We are not selling anything. This is simply what we wish someone had handed us earlier.

The book is originally in Russian, but we have an English copy available. If you’d like one - just message us. One copy has already found a good home. 🙂

And remember - this isn’t just for women navigating difficult relationships. Men too. Anyone trying to understand why certain people leave you feeling small, confused, or exhausted.

You deserve clarity. This book is a good place to start.

💬 DM us if you’d like a copy.

Над Невой весенний ветер,
Снова город весь в цветах.
И живёт Победа в детях,
В фотографиях, в сердцах.

Не в парадах только память,
Не в словах больших порой -
А в способности оставить
Человечность за собой…

С днём Великой Победы!

To our Catholic friends celebrating Easter this Sunday, we send warm wishes of peace, light, and renewal.

At the same time, it is worth remembering that for many Orthodox Christians, this Sunday is Palm Sunday (Вербное воскресенье), while Orthodox Easter will be celebrated on April 12, 2026. In 2026, Western Easter falls on April 5, while the Orthodox Pascha follows one week later.

Under the shared roof of Christianity, there are different calendars, traditions, and historical paths. These differences are not minor details. They are part of the deeper cultural, spiritual, and historical foundations that shape how communities live, remember, and celebrate their faith.

In a world that often prefers simplified labels, real understanding requires more. It requires respect for history, for identity, for tradition, and for the inner logic through which nations and communities were formed.

Without that depth, it is difficult to build meaningful cooperation, trust, or lasting partnership. Today is a beautiful reminder: Genuine dialogue begins not with assumptions, but with understanding.

Warm Easter wishes to our Catholic friends. To our Orthodox communities - blessed Palm Sunday, with Easter still to come.

Different dates. Shared faith. Deeper roots matter.

Eid Mubarak

On this blessed occasion of Eid Al-Fitr, I extend my heartfelt wishes to the Muslim community around the world - from Russia to the Middle East, from Southeast Asia to every place where this sacred day is honored.

May your prayers be heard, your hopes fulfilled, and your hearts filled with peace.

In a world of many cultures, traditions, and beliefs, it is unity, mutual respect, and the depth of our shared humanity that bring us closer together.

May this Eid remind us not only of faith, but of compassion, dignity, and the strength we find in understanding one another.

Beyond borders, beyond differences, we are connected by something deeper - by the values we carry, the families we nurture, and the future we build together.

May peace guide our steps, may unity shape our path, and may this blessed day inspire harmony for generations to come.

International Women’s Day — 8 March

Today is a day that carries both history and beauty.

International Women’s Day began more than a century ago — in the early 1900s — when women in different parts of the world started speaking about dignity, education, fair work, and the right to be heard. In 1910 the idea of a global day dedicated to women was proposed at the International Conference of Working Women, and in 1917 a women’s movement in March helped mark the moment when this date became deeply symbolic.

Since then, March 8 has remained a reminder that the story of women is inseparable from the story of humanity itself.

But beyond politics and history, there is something even deeper.

Being a woman has never been only about rights or roles.

It is also about creation, intuition, compassion, resilience, and the quiet strength that shapes families, communities, and entire cultures.

Across centuries and across continents, women have carried societies forward — sometimes loudly, sometimes silently, but always powerfully.

Today we would simply like to wish all women around the world something very simple yet profound:

May you remain connected to your inner strength and your feminine beauty.

May you never forget the value of your voice, your mind, and your heart.

And may the world continue learning to respect the incredible role women play in shaping our shared future.

Happy International Women’s Day to women everywhere.

Happy International Day of Education.

May education continue to be a bridge between cultures, generations, and ideas.

May knowledge empower people to think freely, act responsibly, and build a more peaceful and sustainable world - together.

Education is not only about learning facts,
it is about shaping values, expanding horizons, and giving every individual the tools to create a better future.
