ProjectNIRA

ProjectNIRA NIRA is a student project that aims to send a satellite into space to explore the origin of the universe

NIRA is a space project started at Mälardalens Högskola to build the first satellite from Västerås. The aim is to construct a CubeSat nano satellite that will gather radio frequencies from space, analyze them on board and retrieve the information back to Earth. The radio frequencies of interest are low frequencies that may contain information about the “origin of the universe”. The project uses hi

gh speed, low power, highly efficient components, specially designed for space missions in order to do as much analysis as efficiently as possible. The program onboard also contains maintenance software so that the whole system can be monitored and the collected data is safely stored and protected from radiation corruption. The projects involves a collaboration of MdH students as well as scientists/experts.

Good morning everyone!
Let's start this week with another beautiful astronomy picture!

To some, it may look like a cat's eye. The alluring Cat's Eye nebula, however, lies three thousand light-years from Earth across interstellar space. A classic planetary nebula, the Cat's Eye represents a final, brief yet glorious phase in
