revenue streams and lowering OPEX for network owner/operators. COS Business Engine™ lets you target marketing not only to increase take-rates but also to do campaigns to attract subscribers to higher ARPU services. COS Service Zones™ lets you invest in fiber with confidence to boosts economic development, quality of life, and access to the global economy for your service area. Until now, fiber deployments were constricted by best-effort estimates and sometimes even speculation. With subscriber backing, network owner/operators can deploy where demand exists and with a continually validated business case, which supports further deployment and saves on both initial investment and future maintenance costs. COS is powered by “people who understand how the fiber market works,” analysts say. “They are experts interacting with service providers daily. COS Systems provides tools rather than just advice.”

AT&T. Verizon. T-Mobile. The Tier 1s are driving open access adoption in the U.S., and the economics are forcing the conversation.
COS Systems CRO Isak Finér told Fierce Network last week:
"Open access is expanding like wildfire, and it's driven by the Tier 1s. If you've built a network and you have a 30% take rate, the economics aren't great. And if someone is coming in and building another network on top of it hoping to get 30%, that's going to be very difficult. Instead of overbuilding and wasting money, people are understanding it makes more sense to share this infrastructure."
Most of our customers today are in the U.S. and Canada. We're watching this shift happen in real time.

Open access fiber has a standards problem. Every time an ISP joins a new network, both sides rebuild the integration from scratch. Billing, provisioning, technical interfaces, all custom.
That's why COS Systems and AT&T are co-leading the Open Access Network Forum, housed within ATIS, to change it. The goal: a unified spec covering the business, operational, and technical requirements for ISP onboarding across North America.
Our CEO Mikael Philipsson, vice chair of the forum, put it plainly at Open Access Day 2026: if every ISP integration is bespoke, you don't have open access. You have exceptions.
Broadband Breakfast covered the full discussion from Fiber Connect. Free sign-up gets you full access.

Open Access Day 2026 is a wrap.
From the opening keynote to After-Panel Drinks and the Open Access Bar at Celebration Brewing Company, the energy in the room reflected exactly where this space is heading: forward, fast, and with serious momentum.
The panels made one thing clear. A lot has happened in Open Access over the past year, and the people building, funding, and operating these networks are not slowing down.
Thank you to everyone who joined us in Kissimmee, and a big thank you to the sponsors who made the day possible:
Elite Sponsors: Arcadis, COS Systems, 1Finity
Day Sponsors: Bonfire, Emtelle, HDR, Intellipop, Ocius-X, Tarana
After-Panel Sponsor: Vetro
Supporting Partners: Nokia, Calix
See you in 2027.

The panel starts at 1:00 PM today. Adam Puckett, our VP of Sales, is on stage with some of the most experienced open access operators in the country.
The topic: how you actually scale an open access network, not just launch one.
Lafayette 4. Be there.

PRIME FiBER has selected COS Wholesale Engine to power wholesale operations and AT&T integration for its Open Access fiber expansion in Sun City, Arizona.
Sun City is part of a broader PRIME FiBER push across the greater Phoenix region. COS Wholesale Engine handles the operational layer: service qualification, order orchestration, appointment management, and partner interoperability across a multi-party environment.
When you're integrating wholesale infrastructure with a major carrier like AT&T, manual processes don't scale. That's what the platform is built to eliminate.

Public/private partnerships are how open access gets funded in places the market won't serve on its own. Getting the structure right is the difference between a project that closes and one that doesn't.
Monday afternoon at Fiber Connect, Ashley Poling, our VP of Business Development, joins operators, advisors, and municipal leaders to work through what actually makes these partnerships function: risk allocation, incentive alignment, funding structures, and the lessons learned from projects that have already delivered.
This is not a session about whether public/private partnerships are a good idea. It's about how to build ones that work.

This is the open access stack. Meet the companies building it.
The whole point of open access is what happens at the end of the wire. Intellipop is a fiber ISP operating on open access infrastructure across five states. No contracts. No data caps. No price hikes. Real people, real simple.
Day sponsor, Open Access Day 2026. May 17, Kissimmee. Free to attend.
