A new Dell R710 server is ordered and on its merry way to join the growing SkyDancer family!
24 cores and 64 GB memory to enable fast build, autotest and delivery of software by Morningstar and Genesis.
We are pushing the physical limits, to reach less than 1 second per build and less than 2 seconds per deploy and install, per project.
The question we ask ourselves: Is it physically possible, to turn 20 average sized projects from source to complete install and running application (including archiving/rollback to previous version if needed), in one minute?
The answer: We believe that SkyDancer Artificial intelligence will render this possible, running builds on the new R710 server.
Our goal is to enable continuous integration and continous delivery on 10 minute release trains, and to do that we need to have everything built and out in production within minutes.
This gives Errorreport.net a few minutes to catch errors, provide error reports to SkyDancer which corrects problems using Morningstar, which in turn push for build to next release train once corrections have been checked in.
The R710 build server is the last piece in the puzzle, to have it up and running... needless to say, we are waiting for it with GREAT anticipation :-)!!
