The Connected Ball The ball is molded in a unique super bouncing durable material that keeps a chip rigged with sensors in the middle. It communicates with your mobile devices using BLE (Bluetooth low energy) and is fully equipped with a CPU, an accelerometer, antenna and lithium battery that keeps the ball going for a minimum of six months of intensive play. The first serial produced batch is being produced over summer and will be uniquely sold over Kickstarter. The second batch are for commercial use and will be complete with wireless charging and a gyro for added sensitivity and additional game uses. The SDK The SDK is where the magic really happens. With both Android and iOS support, the SDK converts events coming from the ball into usable in-game events. Production We have our production in China using two different factories with whom we share a long history of collaboration thanks to our "Wabobian" background. Production in China is not about finding the best deal and signing a contract but about building relationships and working together as a team. The first factory puts all the electronics together using a Nordic Semi chip as the main foundation and adding sensors on top. The second factory is responsible for putting everything together inside the ball as well as doing the necessary 3-step QC tests ensuring that the ball is fully loaded for fun once it's delivered to you!
