Has everyone heard of tilde.club? It's a free (as in speech AND beer) public access Un*x system set up for the purpose of building an online community using standard Unix shell utilities. It's the Internet of the early 1990s, which has always been with us hidden under all the apps, ads, glitz, and distractions of the Web today. The founder tells how it happened: https://medium.com/message/tilde-club-i-had-a-couple-drinks-and-woke-up-with-1-000-nerds-a8904f0a2ebf
The original host, tilde.club, has been filled, but several other hosts have been set up inspired by the idea: http://tilde.club/%7Epfhawkins/othertildes.html
I've joined several of them: http://tilde.town/~papa/tildeverse.html
The tildee movement is very much in-line with Zoli's motivations for setting up Polarhome. At the very least some of the ways people are playing with their tildee Web pages can inspire some fun on our Polarhome accounts.
Tilde.Club is supported by a global community of good people. We don't rank people by the amount they give, only by the fact that they gave. Here's who has donated! When you're on the server, THANK THEM.
