Development of custom GFX for structural references.
Created unique materials and textures in Firefly for stylistic refinement.
Generated custom GFX by iterating new prompts with AI-generated content and structural references.

Alster and Wrlds Technologies has developed a prototype mobile app for iOS and Android, to showcase the capabilities and possibilities of connected smart workwear by Prevent & Deloza.

With this app, Alster has taken a technical leap and adopted the rapidly growing cross platform framework Kotlin Multiplatform allowing us to target both iOS and Android with a single Kotlin codebase.

At Alster, we believe in a technical philosophy where we are quick to trial new technology, but thoroughly validate them for their intended market and purposes through lab projects. For the Prevent & Deloza app we felt that it was the right moment to adopt this technology, so we could leverage our strong in house Kotlin expertise acquired through our native mobile app development in Kotlin. That is one the possibilities with Kotlin multiplatform, to publish your apps to iOS with only one modern and adored programming language.

This also makes Kotlin multiplatform the most effective choice for making an iOS version of an Android app.

Did you know that Alster has a dedicated team focusing on mobile development and design? We are one of the few independent software developers with capabilities to handle both enterprise-grade projects and accelerating startup initiatives.

We do native development for iOS and Android, respectively, and have vast experience in cross-platform technology where Flutter by Google and recently Kotlin Multiplatform development are our preferred choices. We are proud to have teamed up with BabyBjörn since 2009. This year, we have launched their new website in 12 markets.

In close collaboration with BabyBjörn, our team of designers and developers specializing on Commerce has created a new visual concept and brought it to life on a new platform built with commercetools and Storyblok.

One of the key lessons learned during this project was the importance of static page generation in ensuring lightning-fast page load times. By leveraging a headless infrastructure, we were able to pre-render and serve static pages, significantly reducing server-side processing and enhancing the overall user experience. This approach not only improved page load times but also enhanced the website's scalability and resilience.

Furthermore, the adoption of Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions such as Commercetools and Storyblok proved invaluable. These SaaS platforms allowed us to streamline development, ensure continuous updates, and benefit from their robust ecosystems, ultimately accelerating time-to-market while maintaining high standards of quality and security.

The combination of static page generation and SaaS integration empowered us to deliver a cutting-edge website for BabyBjörn efficiently and effectively.
