The Camera Tool has been updated with two major improvements in Dash 1.12.

You can now animate all custom Dash camera settings in Sequencer, making it much easier to build cinematic shots with Dash-specific controls.

You can unlock and use the standard Unreal Engine camera settings, including focus settings.

This means you can create and adjust your Dash camera as usual, then enable the top toggle and fine-tune specific focus settings directly in the Unreal Engine Details panel.

If you give the physics tools in Dash a try, most likely, you will want to use them in all your future UE5 projects.

But it's worth it, we promise!

The PCG tools in UE5 are great, but a lot of people find them complex.

Dash, on the other hand, is made to be easy to use, both for beginners and professionals. It comes with tons of procedural tools, just as PCG, but it also has so much more.

The Dash Content Browser not only integrates a bunch of free asset libraries, but it also includes a marketplace where you can buy individual Dekogon Studios assets.

And we promise, the asset buying experience doesn't get easier than this.

If you haven't grabbed the free Sierra Divison LLC assets from the Dash Content Browser yet, you should.

You get some great free assets, and you might find that you really like the Dash Content Browser (which is available with a free Dash license).

It is very easy to use textures and assets from the Dash Content Browser, and as a huge bonus, you also get the ability to easily adjust the materials, including displacement and snow capabilities.

Creating procedural cliffs is one strength of Dash. What are your favourite features or use-cases of Dash in UE5?

Creating convincing moss in UE5 doesn't have to be complicated.

With Dash, you can build rich, natural-looking moss in just a few steps:

🌿Grab a few Megascans foliage assets from FAB
🌿Scatter them from the Dash Content Browser
🌿Scale them down and increase the density
🌿Break it up with Angle Mask and Noise Mask
🌿Repeat with more foliage for natural variation

Layering a handful of simple scatters often produces much more realistic results than relying on a single asset.

If you'd like to try this workflow yourself, Dash is available with a 14-day free trial.

This video is old, but still one of my favourites. Seeing how well the different Dash tools can work together was really fun.
