After five busy days in Johannesburg, we left Electra Mining with plenty of new ideas, valuable conversations, and a strong sense of momentum in Southern Africa.

The interest we experienced - in everything from machine control and rock analysis to connected mining operations - showed just how relevant our technologies are to the challenges and opportunities facing the mining industry today.

Rockma already has a local team of 4–5 people supporting customers across the region. The response at Electra Mining gave us even more reason to strengthen that presence and continue building our capabilities closer to our customers.

When we landed in Johannesburg last week, we were met with something we hadn't expected – colder weather than back home in Sweden 🥶

Something else we hadn't quite expected is the incredible response we've received. After working with our products and solutions for so long, some of its possibilities almost become a given to us – but the reactions at Electra Mining Africa have been a great reminder that they're not.

Being able to see in real time what the machine operator is doing, and to adjust the drill plan directly from the office when the project requires it - even in the middle of ongoing work. That's part of what Patrik and Martin demonstrated at the booth today, and it's drawing more and more visitors every day.

Day two at Electra Mining Africa, and the pace is at least as high as yesterday. Patric has been showing how our rock intelligence solutions work for underground mining and tunneling - an area that has attracted a lot of interest throughout the day.

Meanwhile, Michel and Adam from Transtronic have had several great conversations with visitors wanting to learn more about how our solutions work together.

The first day at Electra Mining Africa has exceeded expectations, with many great conversations and strong interest in our 3D navigation and rock intelligence solutions.

You'll also meet Fredrik, Martin, and Patrik at our booth over the coming days. Right now, they're gearing up together with our friends Michel and Adam from Transtronic for four more days in Johannesburg.

Being able to adjust the drill plan while the job is still in progress - that's the kind of flexibility that can make a real difference to a project ⏱️
