Painting a motherboard, sure it can be a scary thought, but its pretty easy to do!
I'll try to do step by step guide with those few pictures I do have from painting my motherboard.

Just a small note but yet important note:
When painting a motherboard, all guarantees for it to work will be gone, so do it on your own risk!

1: start taking the plastic guard off.
There can be screws on both the front and back.
A small note:
There can be thermalpaste on the backside. There was some on my Maximus XI Formula, DONT scrape it off, unless you have some laying around.

2: Masking off.
Then start to mask off the parts you don't want to have paint on, like here:
All the Lighting and the small screen. Would be a shame to cover that with paint, wont it?
If there are any wires, be sure to mask them off too.
The more careful and thorough you are, the better results you gonna get.
Pro tip: Invest in a sharp exacto knife, it really helps you out a great amount!

3: painting!
Once you are done masking off, cleaned the surface you want painted, you are ready to go!

Shake the spray can 3 minutes or so, just make sure the paint is mixed well.
When spraying, keep about 30-40cm distance from the motherboard and the spray can, and do THIN coats!
Its better to spray the motherboard 5 super thin coats, rather than one thick, let it take its time!
Only paint in an area where its clean and WELL VENTILATED!

3.5: Optional
You can also do like me, in this case, using red paint as "blood"
I basically took an old brush and "flicked" red paint on the areas I wanted blood as an effect.

4: Start assembling:
When everything is dried and you got it as you want, start to peel off your masking tape, making sure it looks how you want it and then start to assemble the motherboard again.

Et voilà, here you can see I painted both my motherboard and GPU.

I hope you liked my guide, it might not be the best guide, but hey, got to start somewhere.

Since I got some downtime, I thought I could show this little detail that people tend to forget :)

Here is something that many forget about when modding their pcs:
You CAN paint your radiators, and there is not much difference in the temperatures.
As long you don't paint the fins in a overly thick coat of paint.
