"I sent an email about it" is probably doing a lot of heavy lifting in your communication strategy.

Sent isn't the same as seen. And for a lot of your team, especially the ones not sitting at a desk, the message you sent doesn't even reach them.

Let's put your internal communication under the magnifying glass 🔎 Here are four questions for you, answer honestly:

→ Do your frontline or deskless employees hear big news secondhand, not from you directly?
→ Do people need to log in, search, or open an app to find out what's going on?
→ Even with email and Slack in place, could an update slip past your team without you ever knowing?
→ Would your team struggle to explain in one sentence what the company is actually trying to achieve this year?

Did you answer "yes" to 2 or more questions? Congrats, you've found the real issue. And no, the problem is not what you communicate, it's the channels you use to communicate.

Email and Slack are fine for what they do. They just don't reach everyone, everywhere, on their own. Getting noticed means showing up where people already are, not asking them to come find you. And sometimes that's not a personal device at all: it's a screen in the hallway, at the entrance or in the break room.

Want to know more about why it's so important to find the right communication channels, and how you can use digital signage to improve employee reach? We've written an article about it: https://eu1.hubs.ly/H0xswqd0

6 in 10 employees can tell you the same story: at least one important company update has slipped past them before. It probably reached their inbox or was posted on the intranet. But it just didn't stick.

There's a fix for that: putting the message somewhere people can't scroll past. That's the whole idea behind digital signage

Don't just take our word for it! Statistics do all the talking.

Research shows that:
• Messages on screens get noticed and remembered far more reliably than messages buried in email.
• Most companies still lean exclusively on communication people have to open themselves, instead of complementing them with more visible channels.
• When it really matters, like a crisis or an urgent update, employees say screens are the channel they'd actually trust to reach them.

The data's basically begging you to hang a screen somewhere.

Most people only look at the tip of the iceberg when they evaluate digital signage.

The checklist usually looks the same:
Drag-and-drop editor ✅
Cloud-based ✅
Nice templates ✅
Scheduling ✅

Features that are important to have, indeed. But these don't decide whether the rollout is still running smoothly two years from now.

That gets decided by what's underneath the surface:
→ How it handles security and compliance
→ Whether comms and HR teams can run it without filing IT tickets
→ What happens going from 5 screens to 50
→ Whether it fits the infrastructure you already have
→ Who picks up the phone when something breaks

None of that comes up early on, but it's usually what determines whether the whole thing succeeds or fails.

Here's a checklist worth keeping close when you're looking into digital signage solutions: https://eu1.hubs.ly/H0wY-8-0

Many companies with digital signage make the same screen show the same thing in every room. Turns out that's the fastest way to make people stop looking.

Attention works on change. Show someone the exact same thing enough times and their brain reclassifies it as background. It's why even the most colorful and interesting posters start blending into the wallpaper after a while.

Luckily, screens are supposed to be the opposite of that: dynamic, current, worth a second glance. But many just aren't used that way.

We looked at what actually works, watching this play out on production floors, in corridors and in break rooms across very different industries. And we'll let you in on a little secret: getting the ratio right mattered more than any single idea. The content mix that seems to hold attention best sits around 40% operational, 35% culture and recognition, 25% practical. But location matters too. Break room screens want more of the second. Production floor screens want more of the first.

Want some inspiration to fill your screens with something worth looking at? Here are 8 ideas 👉

Great content on a poorly designed screen gets ignored every time. 😬

Bad design doesn't just look unprofessional. It makes people stop paying attention. And when people stop paying attention, your message disappears, no matter how important it is.

At PLAYipp Digital Signage Summit, Art Director Åsa Heurling shares exactly how to create screens that people actually look at. Practical, visual, and immediately useful.
Because great communication deserves to look great too.

Still images are fine. But motion stops people in their tracks.

🎬 At PLAYipp Digital Signage Summit, filmmaker Mikael Boson from Filmsnickeriet will show you why moving content matters and more importantly, how to actually get started with it without it becoming a big production project.

No expensive equipment required. No film degree needed. Just a smarter approach to the content you're already creating.

If you've been thinking about adding video to your screens but never quite taken the step, this event is for you.

Happeo and PLAYipp now integrate. Your intranet content just got a lot harder to miss. 📲

Here's what that means in practice:

✅ Happeo posts appear automatically on screens across your workplace, break rooms, corridors, shared spaces, and beyond. No copy-paste. No extra work.
✅ Reach the people who rarely log in. Shift workers, frontline teams, and everyone in between.
✅ Choose which Happeo channels show on which screens. Local news for one office. Company-wide updates everywhere.
✅ Always current. Content syncs in real time, the moment you publish in Happeo.
✅ Set it up once and let it run. The integration is built for communicators, not developers.

The content you already create, now reaching everyone who needs it.
