We are lucky to develop sensors in Delsbo.

Fresh air, forests, lakes, and CO₂ levels that regularly fall back towards the outdoor baseline.

But many indoor environments do not work like that.

Hospitals, nursing homes, control rooms and other 24/7 occupied buildings do not reliably return to a fresh-air baseline. In those applications, automatic background calibration cannot be used as the main stability mechanism.
That is the engineering problem behind Senseair Dual Technology.

An integrated solid-state reference detector, built into the LED source chip, gives the sensor a more direct way to monitor light source behaviour over time. Shorter disturbance chain. Stronger foundation for long-term CO₂ measurement stability.
Developed in Delsbo, for environments where the baseline cannot be taken for granted.

We have written more about the technology, the application and the thinking behind Senseair Dual Technology in this article.

The countdown is on! Only two weeks until Sensor+Test 2026 kicks off in Nuremberg.

Here’s a sneak peek behind the scenes: Rikard and Pär fine-tuning one of the live product demos we’ll be showcasing at the event.

We are bringing our latest sensing innovations, fresh insights, and great coffee to the Measurement Fair from June 9 to 11. Meet the Senseair team at Booth 1-512.

When the S8 was first released, it quickly became the standard for CO₂ sensors and is now one of our most popular sensors. Subsequent product releases (Sunlight, S12 etc) have followed in the footsteps of the S8 with compact design for easy integration.

The S8 is available in different configurations, making it one of our most versatile sensors. Not only that, but it also complies with the latest ASHRAE standards!

Why Delsbo?

Because working with air quality is different when you have forests, lakes and open air close to you.

Senseair develops gas sensing technology in Delsbo, Sweden. It is a place where nature is not an abstract idea. It is part of normal life. This is relevant when your work is about measuring small changes in the air around us.

Our sensors are used in buildings, HVAC systems, vehicles and connected devices to help understand and improve different environments. From a small community surrounded by nature, we build technology for better air quality in many parts of the world.
That feels quite logical to us.

To measure air well, it helps to remember why air matters

Obvious once you think about it, but Precision vs Accuracy can be confusing at first.

In gas sensing, a stable reading is not always a correct reading. That is why it is important to understand the difference between precision and accuracy.

Precision describes how repeatable a sensor’s results are under the same conditions. Accuracy describes how close those results are to the true gas concentration.

For applications like demand-controlled ventilation, refrigerant monitoring, and safety systems, this distinction matters. A sensor that is precise but inaccurate may lead a system to make the same wrong decision repeatedly, while a sensor that is accurate but imprecise may create noisy data that is difficult to use for stable control.

Good sensing requires both: readings that are stable enough to act on and close enough to reality to trust. Precision, accuracy and long-term stability are all part of Senseair Signature Performance.

Always fun to spot our Refrigerant Detection System (RDS) out in the wild.

Doing what it’s built for, reliable performance in real-world conditions.

27/04/2026

What does it take to deliver reliable refrigerant detection in real-world conditions? In this film, our Chief Engineer Joakim Enerud shares insights into the thinking behind our Refrigerant Detection portfolio.

With solutions like Sunlight R290, alongside Sunlight R32 (configurable for R454A/B/C), the portfolio is designed to support a wide range of A2L and A3 refrigerants. Our Refrigerant Detection System (RDS) brings this technology together in a robust, IP66 & IP67-rated housing for reliable use in demanding environments.

A good reminder of the engineering and collaboration behind solutions designed for real-world conditions.
