🤝 MCT–YECSI Grant Recipient Highlight:

3M – Arts & Craft, Honiara.

The MCT–YECSI Business Development Grant has supported one of YECSI’s creative entrepreneurs, 3M, under the Arts & Culture category.

Through this support, 3M was able to secure its HCC business license, purchase essential materials, assist with rental costs for their current space at the Art Gallery, and support employment for one staff member for the next 6 months. This support marks an important step towards strengthening and sustaining their creative business journey.

3M currently operates a shop at the Art Gallery and is also an active member of YECSI through participation in the Sunday Market initiative. Their continued involvement reflects a strong commitment towards promoting local creativity, arts, and entrepreneurship within the Solomon Islands.

As a growing creative business, 3M continues to contribute positively towards supporting local talent, cultural expression, and small business development while helping create opportunities within the arts and culture sector.

The support provided under the MCT–YECSI partnership initiative between YECSI and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism highlights the ongoing commitment towards investing in youth entrepreneurship, creative industries, and community-based businesses across the country.

YECSI acknowledges the continued support from MCT and congratulates 3M on this achievement and their ongoing contribution towards arts, culture, and entrepreneurship in the Solomon Islands.

YECSI Transition Members Sign Up with SICCI:

Today, seven members of the Young Entrepreneurs Council Solomon Islands (YECSI) officially signed up to become members of the Solomon Islands Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SICCI). These sign-ups form part of YECSI’s Transition Pathway and represent the first cohort for 2026.

In total, 16 young entrepreneurs and young businesses have formally met their transition requirements this year and have now begun their formal journey with SICCI. These members were identified based on their business growth, performance, and the opportunities they accessed throughout 2025.

The Transition Program was a key commitment promoted by YECSI last year, designed to provide a structured pathway for members to move from the informal space into the formal business sector. With strong support from stakeholders, this first cohort is embracing a new chapter in their entrepreneurial journey.
The members who signed up represent diverse sectors, including agriculture, manufacturing, retail, online business, laundry services, events, and catering.

YECSI remains committed to engaging stakeholders to support this Transition Cohort through quarterly trainings tailored specifically for them. These will include programs in accounting, business management, networking, compliance, and more. The first training for the 2026 cohort is scheduled for April.

YECSI congratulates its first Transition Cohort for their commitment, confidence, and determination to grow their enterprises. While transitioning to SICCI membership, they remain part of YECSI and will play an important mentorship role for new and emerging members.

YECSI Chairman Limahl Totogi acknowledged the Solomon Islands Government, through its line ministries, for their continued support in making this transition possible. He further emphasized that YECSI aims to facilitate annual transitions for members, depending on their level of readiness and business growth.

This first cohort represents more than a membership shift it signals the strengthening of a national youth entrepreneurship ecosystem where young business owners can start informal, grow sustainably, and transition confidently into the formal economy.

Most people wait for the perfect moment or a green light from someone else, but life rarely works that way.

The truth is, every door you want to open will probably require you to knock first.

You have to be willing to step forward, take a risk, and create your own luck.

If you keep waiting for permission, you’ll watch others pass you by.

Build your own opportunities by learning new skills, putting yourself out there, and refusing to settle for “good enough.”

Winners aren’t just lucky. They’re relentless, resourceful, and proactive.

When you take action, you attract possibilities that would never appear if you simply waited.

Don’t just dream.

Do something about it.👊🔥

💸 If you’re only motivated when the money’s good, this game isn’t for you.

Being an entrepreneur means showing up whether you made $7 or $70,000 that week.

It’s easy to stay excited when everything’s working.

But what about when it’s quiet? When no one’s buying?

That’s where most people quit.

The ones who make it?

They keep going. They treat every day like it matters, because it does.

You can’t just hustle when it’s fun or profitable.

You’ve got to be all in, even when it sucks.

That’s what separates winners from wishers.

It’s not always about passion.

Sometimes it’s just discipline, grit, and showing up anyway.

That’s the difference between a hobby and a business.🏆🔥
