A verified case of Pakistani guy Adnan Liaqat sentenced imprisonment due to non-payment of debt judgment.

On May 4th 2016 a car (Mazda6 model-2016) was rented upon employer’s consent by Adnan & his colleague Younas, an additional allowance of 4,600 SAR with monthly salary was agreed by the employer. Due to wage delay outstanding monthly rent payments were not settled, but they negotiated with rental company for deferred payment and kept using the car.
A quote fits here perfectly ” When ill luck begins, it does not come in sprinkles, but in showers”. In mid of September 2016 Adnan got involved in a brawl and was arrested by authorities. During his stay in police custody, Younas met Adnan and told him that rental company has strictly warned to immediately settle 5 months’ rent 19,500 SAR. Adnan requested Younas to “return the vehicle right away” and to “ask employer to settle rent payment from his receivables”. Sadly nobody co-operated. Instead of returning the car Younas left the Kingdom on final exit in November 2016.
On 7-Jan-2018 Adnan was sentenced to 1.5 years imprisonment and deportation.
Rental company made several attempts to contact Adnan and Younas but failed. On 28th Dec-2016 the company filed law suit against Adnan & Younas. Due to no availability of defendants addresses, the court ordered to publish add in AlJazeera Newspaper dated 12-Jan-2017. On March 28 2017 jail police presented Adnan in court, where claimant demanded rent till the date 65,400 SAR and to return car immediately. Adnan was surprised to know that the car was still not returned.
Adnan made various requests for temporary bail so he could return the car, but was denied and was instructed to seek someone’s support. Later the car was recovered on 12-Aug-2018 by Rental company with the help of defendant's friend. Several body parts were missing i.e. doors, tires, etc.
The court ordered 825 days Actual rent (200 per day) After discount 130 per day + 20,000 repair charges = 127,250 SAR, shall be paid by monthly installments of 5,000 SAR. Due date of first installment was on Feb-2019 while he was still serving his prison sentence.
Few days before his prison sentence would have ended he was transferred to Ex*****on Courts custody. Since then he is in Jail and never had a chance to come out because of deportation sentence. His only way out is to pay debt judgment so the authorities could deport him immediately.
