When you find yourself comparing yourself to others, or your work to that of others, shift the narrative.

For example, from
"My proposal is so much better than hers, it's not fair that it did not get selected".
to
"I am keen to find out what made her proposal strong enough to get selected".

From
"I am way smarter than him, I deserve this promotion more".
to
"He has some great strengths as a leader and his career path is inspirational. I can draw so many valuable lessons from the way he manages people and projects. Perhaps, I can request him to mentor me".

Comparisons increase negative emotions as stress, frustration, fear, anger, jealousy. Inspiration-led self-growth increases positive emotions as motivation, self-confidence, sense of fulfilment.

Inspire and be inspired. Let go of comparisons and complaints.
