October is , and we're celebrating with a series of posts!

Our tool helps you find and fix security issues in your code, so over the four weeks, we'll cover some topics like Cyber Resilience Act, MISRA C, third-party library risks, and SAST vs. DAST vs. IAST.

Stay tuned!

Large projects can produce thousands of warnings during the first analysis run, so trying to fix everything at once can overwhelm the team. Here's a more reasonable approach to this:

1. Assess the scope. Run the analyzer with your chosen configuration and determine the total number of detected issues.

2. Establish a baseline. Use PVS-Studio's baselining mechanism to suppress existing warnings without modifying source files. This is useful when introducing PVS-Studio for the first time or when suppressing false positives in a project already using the analyzer.

3. Focus on new code. With existing warnings suppressed, the team can focus on catching new defects instead of immediately fixing every issue in legacy code.

4. Plan critical fixes. Identify the most important warnings and create a plan to resolve the issues that must be addressed before putting the tool into full operation.

It will help reduce technical debt incrementally. Once static analysis is running, you'll gradually work through the existing backlog to improve code quality and security without slowing down development.
