🚀🚀🚀 Biometric Update: Speech Technology Center has announced a strong performance in biometric speaker recognition testing by the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology.
For the NIST 2021 Speaker Recognition Challenge (SRE), voice recognition algorithms were assessed for their performance with audio from conversational telephone speech, audio from video, and video, with STC combining the use of face and voice biometrics in the latter case to identify speakers.
STC says it is among the first biometrics providers to successfully merge transformer and wav2vec machine learning models. Transformer models are typically used in computer vision and natural language processing, while wav2vec is a common speech recognition model type. 💥💥💥AI is now helping to conduct ultrasounds for residents of Yekaterinburg and Sverdlovsk Region at Doctor Plus Medical Center. The clinic is the first private medical organization in the Urals to implement Voice2Med, a product developed by Speech Technology Center. The service, which is available for doctors with a variety of specialties, including radiologists, cardiologists, and surgeons, is currently in use at medical institutions in 62 regions of Russia.
Voice input technology has been successfully tested in Moscow clinics and hospitals. Voice2Med has been used in radiology since 2019 and for ultrasounds since fall 2020. Radiologists in Moscow have used Voice2Med to fill out almost 100,000 protocols with their voice. The project is being developed by Speech Technology Center in synergy with the Moscow Health Department’s Center of Diagnostics and Telemedicine. The implementation of modern tech solutions is possible due to the unified digital health platform created in Moscow, developed by the capital's social development complex and the Moscow Information Technology Department.

Speech Technology Сenter presented its latest achievements and new solutions at Gitex Technology Week, the largest conference and exhibition, which took place in Dubai on 17–21 October. Gitex 2021 brought together more than 4 thousand IT business professionals from 140 countries.

⚡Speech Technology Сenter created a voice assistant to optimise the work of the UMMC-Health medical institution in Yekaterinburg. The service reduces the time doctors waste on missed appointments and waiting for the patients, lowers the workload of the call centre staff, cuts the cost of the SMS messaging for the clinic, and fosters customer loyalty.

The voice assistant developed by the Speech Technology Сenter calls patients to remind them of upcoming appointments, tells them how to prepare for the procedures, and asks them to confirm their visit. The virtual assistant can either postpone or cancel appointments. It can make over 20,000 calls a month.

💥💥💥In the first three weeks alone, the virtual assistant served a quarter of the UMMC-Health's patients, helping them cancel appointments, make new ones, or adjust the date and time of the visit.
