We have extended the popular Purple Patch range with a D25 version. Created in response to customer demand, the PPD25 is both designed and manufactured in the UK and incorporates features that cater carefully for modern day needs, including:

*Fully programmable normalling options inclusive of full-normalling, half-normalling, parallel and no normalling settings which are adjustable whilst the patch remains terminated.

* Individual earthing selection for all patch points allowing for phantom power and unbalanced signal pass through.

* No compromise steel chassis and aircraft-grade aluminium construction.

* Individual jack modules - Copper-nickel-silver alloy leaf springs with solid gold crossbar switching contacts and nickel-plated sleeve bushings. 110 Ohm impedance with low return loss. 30,000 insertion/removal cycles minimum.

We are excited to announce that VDC has installed 21 of our Van Damme Cable Purple Patchbays into Abbey Road Studios!

Purple Patch is a PPE56 2x48 bantam patchbay, created as part of a two-year research and development programme to ensure that recording studios, theatres with recording facilities and broadcasting houses get the best in terms of performance, functionality and capability.

Quote from Simon Campbell, Head of Technical Services at Abbey Road Studios: “You can tell that the team at VDC have done their research and worked very hard on creating a great product. We received 21 units straight off the production line, configured them and really put Purple Patch through its paces before we signed them off. We identified a few things that needed to be tweaked – and VDC made sure everything was done to ensure a smooth installation.”

Van Damme’s involvement in specialised Marine cables began in 2002 with the mega-yacht MV Octopus. This week Chris from Audiosteps was at Bizzy Studios installing the last mile of Van Damme speaker cables. Together with studio owner, Bizzy Mo, and Oeler from ABM Studios Barcelona, we spent some time conducting a ‘listening’ session in order to compare the new cables with the previous cable setup of a German brand. Everyone was overwhelmed by the definition and clarity that the Van Damme cables offer.

Bizzy Mo commented: “I recently kitted my entire chain out with Van Damme cables and was blown away by the added value it gave me. The final step was connecting my Crane Song converter to my studio monitors. I now experience more transient definition, better spatial imaging, tighter bass and clearer mids in my monitoring.
