This week that ends leaves us with a great feeling of pride and fulfillment as it reinforced our team’s worth and determination.

It’s been an intense week, but nonetheless a productive and pleasant one: we’ve had a visit from the United States and spent precious time together, exchanging and consolidating ideas and making sure they align with our values and plans for the future.

We are really excited for what the future brings and we hope to see everyone really soon!

May you have a blessed Easter with your loved ones, lots of joy and peace!

Amongst many great things that we do, at Waterford, we try to inspire children a love for reading. We lead by example, so we read and share various books with our children to encourage literacy and stimulate the growth of their imagination.

A great reminder to enjoy some nice stories with your little ones comes today, on International Children's Book Day! The benefits and advantages of observing the celebration are as valuable as the ones of reading as a whole and just the simple act of reading to a child is enough to contribute to the event.

This is your reminder to grab a book and read to your child today. 📖

Reading to your child is a wonderful way to help them learn. It is also proved that it improves memory and creativity and it helps them focus better. With this simple gesture you can create a lasting bond and wonderful memories for both you and your child, while helping them develop skills.

March 19th marks International Read to Me Day, a campaign encouraging children to ask adults to read to them. The day is inspired by the African proverb "It takes a village to raise a child and it takes a child to inspire a village."

The event aims to empower children to take responsibility for their own literacy, but also to ask for more support. Anyone can join the celebration with the simple, yet powerful act of reading to a child. 📖👨‍👧‍👧

As women are celebrated globally on the 8th of March, at the beginning of spring, one might think the celebration is all about flowers and offering them to women. But there’s more to it than meets the eye.

The origins of International Women’s Day are connected to broader efforts for greater equality and social rights. During the 19th and early 20th centuries, many women began organizing and speaking out about limited access to education, property ownership and political participation. These early movements, including strands of feminism, aimed to improve women’s opportunities and recognition in society.

International Women’s Day gradually developed from this period of activism. In 1910, the German activist Clara Zetkin proposed the idea of an international day dedicated to women. The first celebrations took place in 1911 and focused on issues such as labor rights and the right to vote. This day was not only about demanding rights, but also about women standing together in solidarity. The day highlighted the importance of recognizing women’s contributions to society and the efforts made to expand their rights.

Over time, the celebration spread across many countries and cultures. Today, International Women's Day is both a moment to appreciate women’s achievements and a reminder of the historical efforts that helped shape the opportunities many women have today. It continues to encourage reflection on equality, progress, and the role women play in communities around the world.🪻🌏

Happy International Day of Women and Girls in Science!

Women have been interested in science for centuries, from ancient female chemists mixing perfumes to women physicians, aviators or biologists in our time.

Unfortunately, over the years women have not been given equal opportunities for education or jobs in this field, many times working without ever receiving credit for their discoveries.

International Day of Women and Girls in Science seeks to close the gender gap in science by raising awareness of the matter and promoting the benefits of women and girls in science, such as diversity of ideas or unbiased research.

One way of showing support for this celebration could translate in doing some research about the women of the past who have paved the way for others.

Who is your favourite woman scientist? 👩‍🔬
