Augsburg, 23.01.2018 - On May 25, the General Data Protection Regulation (DSGVO) enters into force in the EU. Many companies still have difficulties in implementing all relevant measures on time. Support comes from Certus Software: The Augsburg-based provider of certified data deletions provides a management platform that allows deletions in the cloud, offline, as well as data erase machines for entire hard drives. Thanks to intuitive operation, it does not require a great deal of training and introduction. The only cloud-based management interface for certified data deletions developed and hosted in Germany meets all DSGVO requirements for transparency and reporting.
The data erasure environment Certus Software Certified Data Erasure completely covers various areas of application of storage media such as hard disks of all kinds: it deletes either via the cloud, in a LAN / PXE version for PCs and laptops, or as hardware for entire storage systems. Certus Software develops the solution in the EU and hosts it in the cloud version in Germany - accordingly, its expertise on the requirements for certified data deletions of European customers flows into the development of the Cloud Management Dashboard.
The cloud-based management functionality enables secure, forensically verifiable, comprehensive and transparent data deletion results and hardware auditing across all storage platforms. This allows data protection officers, administrators and resellers to be sure that mission-critical data can not leave the house and that they can prove their whereabouts in an audit-proof way: every deletion entails the creation of a certificate. The deletion and management software ensures transparency and a complete overview of all processes. This is an important criterion for compliance with the GDPR.
ISO 15408 certified deletions
As one of only three companies in the world, and the only company in the EU, Certus Software not only provides proof of deletion: the entire process and the deletion itself are certified. The cloud-based approach and data erase process meet the strict requirements of IT security under the International Common Criteria Recognition Arrangement (CCRA) Convention (ISO 15408). Certus Software complies with the EU's highest verified EU data erasure security standard (EAL3 +).
"It's always problematic when storage devices - hard drives, USB sticks, memory cards - leave the house, or users sell or transfer data. Because then information can be spied out or transferred unrecognized. The proofability of deletions demanded by the GDPR would thus not be given. A certified deletion and verification process, as we offer it with our data deletion service, is essential: Only in this way can companies protect the intellectual property of their employees, "says Ruud de Wildt, CEO of Certus Software Germany.
Secure cloud-based deletion
Certus Software has a unique cloud-based management tool. With TLS v.1.2 protocol, the successor to SSL encryption, the software encrypts access and Internet connectivity to the highest standards. This way, information about hardware and deletions can be securely transmitted and retrieved.
Customizable reporting
Certus offers a high degree of flexibility in reporting and document management: Different exportable report formats such as XML, HTML, XLS and PDF and options to find, sort or select required deletion or hardware information simplify reporting.
