“What’s the ROI of this?” ⏩One of the most common (and misunderstood) questions in product development.

Because ROI isn’t just revenue.

Sometimes, ROI means reducing risk before it becomes expensive.
Sometimes, it’s accelerating time to market.
Sometimes, it’s validating (or invalidating) a direction early, before more resources are committed.

And often, it’s creating the clarity needed to make better decisions next.

ROI in tech is rarely immediate and almost never one-dimensional.

We must look past the “What will this generate?” question to “What will this enable, prevent, or accelerate?” perspective. Because this is where real value is created.

Plans change. Priorities shift. What made sense 3 months ago might not make sense today.

That’s the reality of building tech products.

And that’s why in product development, adaptability isn’t a “nice-to-have”.

25+ years in software development “engraved” adaptability in our DNA. Now, we can easily respond to new information, adjust direction early, and avoid costly missteps.

It’s about reducing risk, balancing speed with long-term strategy (without compromising either), translating technical decisions into real business value, and delivering measurable ROI, often with limited resources and constant pressure.

The real challenge is not building the product.
It’s navigating through constraints, expectations and trade-offs that don’t have obvious answers.

That’s why the difference isn’t in who can BUILD a software product.
It’s in who UNDERSTANDS what it takes to build under these conditions.

And when you find teams that understand this, the conversation changes from delivering features to delivering outcomes.
