Mihai studied Computer Science, but spent several years working outside the industry. At one point, he had stopped thinking seriously about the career path he had originally prepared for.

But life had other plans and then came a turning point.

What followed wasn't just a return to tech, but a gradual journey from developer to leadership roles - one responsibility, one project, and one lesson at a time.

Afterwork, but with gardening, a beautiful sunset and homemade food 🌱

Last Friday, a group of Yonderists traded the usual end-of-week routine for an evening at an ecological urban garden just above Cluj and some time spent outdoors, learning, gardening and slowing down together.

In just one evening, we: 🌿 planted 284 seedlings, 🌿 cleaned entire herb beds, 🌿 harvested (and tasted 🫛) peas, 🌿 trimmed 290 chive bushes, 🌿 prepared and planted beds with tomatoes, zucchini and physalis.

Together, we saved the Blue Gardens team around 470 minutes of manual work.

But that wasn’t everything. We had a magnificent sunset over Cluj, incredibly good food shared around one long table, meaningful conversations, and a few very friendly horses and donkeys asking for attention along the way 🫏.

This initiative was possible thanks to our partner Clujul Sustenabil, whom we support because they turn sustainability into action, including a current project pushing for sustainable food in public procurement for nurseries and kindergartens across Cluj. Last Friday was our way of showing up for that: not just with funding, but with our hands. We believe real sustainability is built locally, through people who create healthier relationships between communities, food, education and the environment.

We’re honored to receive the 𝐄𝐒𝐆 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 at the 2026 ANIS Romania Gala 🏆

Organized by ANIS, the Romanian Employers’ Association of the Software and Services Industry, the award recognizes initiatives contributing to sustainability, social responsibility, and long-term development.

What makes this recognition even more meaningful for us is that Yonder’s ESG journey was never created to “check a box”.

It grew organically from our culture, our people, and long-term partnerships built over time, through colleagues who chose to get involved, volunteer, propose causes, mentor, build, donate, teach, and show up for communities around us, while staying increasingly mindful of environmental responsibility and long-term impact.

Congratulations as well to the other finalists, GlobalLogic and Lenovo.

And thank you to every colleague, NGO partner, volunteer, and community member who helped shape Yonder’s ESG journey.

𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐘𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐒𝐑 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫 - Help others help 🤝

What started as a simple call for medical needs became real support for multiple kids departments in Cluj. All equipment has now reached its destination and is already making a difference in patient care:

✔️ Neonatology– ultrasound for premature babies (hip, brain, lungs, abdomen, heart), avoiding risky transfers of newborns between hospital buildings
✔️ Pediatrics 3 – a portable ultrasound for vein identification and for children with limited mobility
✔️ Pediatrics 2 – 4 infusion pumps supporting safe and efficient treatment administration

This initiative started with ideas from our colleagues - causes they believed in and brought forward through an internal call. Part of the funding was raised together through our Cooking for Charity event, with the rest supported by the company.

And we’re not stopping here 📢

Following the latest Cooking for Charity edition and our continued focus on medical equipment, we are moving forward with 3 new initiatives supporting pediatric and neonatal care in Romania, across multiple cities: Târgu Mureș, Iași and Cluj-Napoca.

It came from someone who had already seen him work.

That's how he went from Requirements Analyst to Product Manager - through trust, collaboration, and a lot of learning.

For six weekends, FII Practic Iași brought together learning, mentoring, and growth in an experience that has come to a close. Our colleagues stepped back into the classroom - this time as mentors - guiding participants through the two training programs our community hosted this year:

🔹 Journey into the World of DevOps: Discover, Learn, Evolve
🔹 Java & AI: Building a Production-Ready Portfolio System

It’s been rewarding to connect with new generations of students - curious, creative, and eager to explore. They’ve shown that finding the right career path isn’t about having all the answers from the start, but about experimenting, learning constantly, and putting in the effort to grow.

Thank you to everyone involved for the energy, dedication, and inspiration you brought to these past weeks. What an amazing experience it’s been.

Some milestones are worth running for. 🤍

The Iași Half Marathon reached a milestone this year - its 10th edition - and the were right there to be part of it.

With a cause close to the heart - supporting kids from disadvantaged backgrounds on their way to a better life - our colleagues gave every kilometer everything they had.

We couldn't be prouder. Congrats to all who ran! 🏃‍♀️‍➡️🏃‍➡️

𝐓𝐰𝐨 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬, 𝐭𝐰𝐨 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐬, 𝐚 𝐥𝐨𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.

Yesterday we got to spend some time with first and second-year HR students from Universitatea Babeş-Bolyai's Faculty of Sociologie & Asistență Socială UBB. And we loved every bit of it.

At our office, they got a real look at how a People team operates — structure, day-to-day responsibilities, and what recruitment actually looks like from the inside. One of our Career Managers, a graduate of the same faculty, was also there and shared a bit of her own story: where she started, where she is now, and what the road between the two actually looked like.

At the faculty, Alexandra Albu, Senior HR Advisor at Yonder and psychotherapist in training, led a workshop on Growth Mindset and cognitive bias, drawing on 20 years of HR experience. Not a lecture. A conversation about the beliefs we carry into our careers, the biases we don't always see, and how we make decisions when change is on the table.

The people studying HR today are shaping workplaces tomorrow. Showing up for them feels like the obvious thing to do 🤝

As part of our Journey of Change annual theme, we started the year by asking more questions, exploring new perspectives, and creating opportunities for others to do the same.

In our CSR initiatives, curiosity showed up in many forms, from students discovering new paths, to Yonder volunteers stepping into new roles and sharing their knowledge in meaningful ways.

What stood out the most? Not just what the people we met learned, but what they started to see, question, and imagine for themselves 💡

Last year, we sat down with the team at Casa Filip trying to see how we can help more than financially. One answer surprised us: digital safety. The people staying there, fighting cancer, were also becoming targets for online fraud and phone scams.

That's when our security team stepped in 😎

For the past year, we've been running awareness sessions there almost monthly, talking openly about data protection, spotting scams, and staying safe online. More colleagues joined in the past months and this brings us a lot of joy 🥰

Pentru că informarea înseamnă protecție, iar prevenția poate salva nu doar bani — ci și liniștea sufletească. 💛
