aRchiHype Digital Passports for new and second hand Home Decor Products

The world lives longer with us. Founded in 2020, aRchiHype is a design tech start-up.

We put major focus on developing the right product-market fit and actually serve real industry needs. Our initial interior design product has evolved due to our customer’s sustainability concerns into a product passport solution for home décor products. aRchiHype Origins is an integrated product passport information system that tracks information on home decor products and their material component

s. It is a transformative way to digitally track supply chain activity, creating a permanent history of a product (chain-of-custody), from manufacture, sale recovery, recycling, and re-use. aRchiHype Origins enables companies within the home decor supply chain achieve industrial symbiosis by (1) connecting directly the manufacturers with each item owner and reinforcing bidirectional communication, thus streamlining maintenance services; (2) facilitating hassle-free alignment with EC Sustainable Products Initiatives; (3) minimizing risks of dangerous or unethical raw material sourcing; (4) securing alternatives to traditional raw material supplies; and (5) removing inefficiencies by optimizing the production/ use/ reuse/ recycle cycles. The success of industrial symbiosis relies on companies working collectively and collaboratively with the common goal of mutual economic and environmental sustainability.

The recycling logo that you encounter every day has a history associated with it too. It happened when the Container Corporation of America organized a design competition in 1970 to mark Earth Day on April 22.

Gary Anderson, an engineering student went ahead to participate in it without any experience in graphic designing and came up with this symbol.

Anderson later revealed, “It didn’t take me long to come up with my design: a day or two. I almost hate to admit that now." But I’d already done a presentation on recycling waste water and I’d come up with a graphic that described the flow of water: from reservoirs through to consumption, so I already had arrows and arcs and angles in my mind.”

We all know the popularity that his design gained over the years.
