At DataCenter Forum by Tema Energy, Sorin Andone, our Managing Director, joined the panel discussion โThe Role of a National Data Center Association: Impact, Advocacy & Market Growthโ, moderated by Venessa Moffat, alongside Lecanu Bernard, Cosmin Georgescu and Mihai Manole, in a conversation on the development of Romaniaโs digital infrastructure ecosystem and the initiative to establish the Romanian Data Center Association.
One of the key messages highlighted during the discussion was that sustainable growth in the data center industry cannot happen in isolation. As critical infrastructure powering digital economies and enabling long-term development, progress depends on collaboration between the industry, authorities and investors.
Sorin emphasized the importance of transforming industry perspectives into coherent policies, simplifying the interaction with authorities and strengthening Romaniaโs credibility as a regional destination for digital infrastructure investments.
The panel also highlighted the role of the future Romanian Data Center Association in creating a unified industry voice, supporting dialogue with authorities, promoting Romania internationally and contributing to the long-term development of the local digital economy.
As Romania continues to accelerate digitalization through both public and private initiatives, as well as European-supported programs, the opportunity to attract hyperscalers, cloud platforms and AI-driven infrastructure becomes increasingly significant.
