Thank you to everyone who joined us for Satellite Communication: Redefining How the World Connects.

What made this event truly special was not only the technology discussions, but also the feeling in the room — at times, it felt more like a cozy reunion of an industry that is deeply connected through years of collaboration, innovation, and shared challenges.

Throughout the evening, we reflected on how this industry started, how far telecommunications and connectivity have evolved over the years, and how conversations that once sounded futuristic are now becoming reality. It gave us all confidence that even the boldest and most optimistic scenarios for global connectivity may be closer than we think — and that the near future is actively being shaped by many of the people present in that room.

One idea that stood out repeatedly was how much we all rely on connectivity every single day, often taking it for granted. Listening to the people building these technologies offered a fascinating perspective on what connectivity truly means behind the scenes, how incredibly complex these systems are, and how much innovation, engineering, and collaboration make seamless communication possible worldwide.

A heartfelt thank you to our amazing speakers and panelists:
• Samah Khamis — Global Head of NSE-VOIS, Vodafone International Services – Networks
• Nicolae Vilceanu — Network Director, Vodafone Romania
• Ileana Petrisor — Software Development Director, Lenovo
• Vlad Cretu — VP Mobile Access, Core & VAS, Sunrise Switzerland
• Maria Esperanza Alcazar — Vodafone Technology Networks Strategy & Architecture
• Cristian Macarencu — Europe Center Executive, Transformation & Governance Senior Manager, VOIS
• Raluca Caraza — Moderator

So many valuable insights, honest conversations, and inspiring perspectives. Thank you all for making this such a memorable event.

We’re excited to introduce Cristian Macarencu, who will present the work and vision behind VOIS during our event on May 28.

With more than 14 years of experience in telecom engineering, program leadership, and large-scale transformation across networking and IT services, Cristian brings a valuable perspective on how technology transformation happens at scale. Known for combining strategic thinking with a hands-on approach, he has consistently driven impact through strong ex*****on and a deep understanding of business and financial priorities.

As satellite communication reshapes global connectivity — enabling IoT at scale, accelerating 5G integration, and driving new infrastructure models — Cristian will offer insights into why this topic matters now and how VOIS teams in Romania are actively contributing to building the future of next-generation connectivity.

This is a rare opportunity to hear directly from people working on these transformations behind the scenes, not just observing them from the outside.

AI is not replacing the need for strong foundations — it is exposing where those foundations are missing.

That was one of the key conclusions from “No Data, No AI: The Foundation Nobody Talks About”, where we brought together an incredible community of data, AI, and technology professionals in Bucharest for an honest and thought-provoking conversation about what it truly takes to build AI responsibly and effectively.

A huge thank you to our outstanding speakers and panelists for sharing their expertise, perspectives, and real-world insights:
▪️ Elisabeta Moraru
▪️ Andreea Mihailescu
▪️ Alina Capota
▪️ Laura Tolosi
▪️ Horia Niculescu

One message stood out throughout the evening: technology innovation waves are moving at lightning speed, and the way we build technology must evolve with them. Lengthy software development cycles are becoming obsolete — proofs of concept can now be built in hours or days, while production-ready applications can emerge in weeks instead of years.

But behind every meaningful AI system stands something even more important: data.

As discussed during the panel, data remains our most critical resource for building and deploying AI responsibly. That means getting the fundamentals right: data quality and integrity, bias mitigation, privacy and security, provenance and consent, as well as proper labelling and annotation.

The conversation also highlighted the new challenges AI introduces around data: scarcity, synthetic data feedback loops, lineage and privacy concerns, and the constant need to monitor data drift as human behavior and global events evolve.

At the same time, AI represents an extraordinary opportunity. Organizations should challenge teams to apply AI to their most complex and meaningful problems — because that is where adoption creates real impact.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this event such a valuable exchange of ideas and experiences.
