Qatar will spend a whopping $200 billion on construction projects to host the 2022 World Cup, a report released this month by consulting firm Deloitte has said.

The price tag is almost 75 times as much money as South Africa spent in 2010 after hosting the Cup for $2.7 billion. And its about 14 times more than the $14 billion Brazil plans to spend to host the month-long tournament next year...

The online habits of Qatar residents change significantly during Ramadan, with residents clocking far more hours on Facebook and Twitter than before the month begins, a regional study of nine Arab countries has shown.

In Qatar, Facebook sees an exponential jump in usage, particularly at the peak of 7pm, or right after sunset, when people break their fasts. Do you find yourself spending more time on FB and Twitter this month?

The new Lusail Iconic Stadium, with a capacity of 86,250, will host the opening and final matches of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Located in Lusail City, the stadium takes its inspiration from the sail of a traditional show boat and is surrounded by water. After the FIFA World Cup, the stadium will be used to host other spectacular sporting and cultural events.

The new Doha Port Stadium will be a completely modular stadium with 44,950 seats. The stadium, which will sit on an artificial peninsula in the Gulf, is designed to evoke its marine setting. Water from the Gulf will run over its outer facade, aiding in the cooling process and adding to its visual allure. Fans will have the option of arriving on a water taxi or ferry. After the World Cup, the stadium will be disassembled and the seats sent to developing countries to further their football development.

There are a lot of unusual hotel in the world which offer suits on trees, in caves, in jail and other strange places. Another interesting hotel will appear in Qatar soon – it will be semisubmerged hotel resort called “Amphibious”. Project of the hotel was designed by Italian company Giancarlo Zema Design Group. This company specializes in the design of yachts, houseboats and semi-submersible architectural structures. Estimated cost of the project is $ 500 million. The hotel complex will include residential buildings, offices and marina with modern bay. In the central tower will house a restaurant that offers exotic dishes in addition to stunning panoramic views. Guests can stay in the 80 semi-submersible suits, which were called “Jellyfish.” The rooms have wonderful open views to the underwater artificial reefs. On the territory of the hotel complex will be used only electric vehicles and small aluminum boats with hydrogen engines.
