South Korea is investing $7.1 BILLION in the technologies of tomorrow.
South Korea has unveiled its “Seven Major SEED” initiative, a national strategy designed to develop new growth engines beyond semiconductors and AI.
As part of the strategy, the government plans to invest 10 trillion won (~$7.1 billion) in materials, parts and equipment technologies by 2030, alongside public-private collaboration to accelerate the development and commercialisation of emerging technologies.

The strategy targets seven key areas, including:
Space & aviation
Quantum technology
Advanced biotechnology
Fusion & renewable energy
Brain-computer interfaces
Small modular reactors
Critical minerals & advanced materials
Among its ambitions: a 100-qubit quantum processor by 2029 and a Moon landing by 2030.

Innovation at this scale is not just about investing in emerging technologies.
It’s about creating the ecosystem, capabilities and partnerships needed to turn ambitious technologies into real-world opportunities.
