To celebrate last week's UXLx 2026 - and what a week! - here's the inspiring talk from John Whalen "Ai is Transforming UX Research" 🤩

"I used to be skeptical of AI-powered tools and nervous about the sweeping changes they promise for our industry. But after interviewing over 25 AI research tool founders, testing nearly 100 AI-empowered solutions, and publishing our “AI vs Humans” study comparing traditional UX research with a human-plus-AI approach, I now see the transformative potential these tools offer."

The afternoon sessions at UXLx 2026 Talks Day kept the energy going! From Designing for AI 🤖 to questioning who truly benefits from the systems we create, the talks challenged us to think deeper about our role as designers.We reflected on design’s relationship with visibility, value, and uncertainty in an industry that never stops evolving while being reminded us to stay grounded in meaningful impact.

We closed the day with the inspiring keynote on AI Stupefaction, exploring the risks of over-reliance and deskilling in the age of AI, and how designers can actively shape better outcomes. 💡

And to end it all: a sunset party overlooking the Lisbon skyline, with drinks, great conversations, and even better company 🌅 🥂

Our UXLx 2026 Talks Day Talks Day was the perfect ending to an incredible event! 🤩

Throughout the morning, our Speakers shared inspiring perspectives on leadership, collaboration, and the evolving role of design in shaping better experiences. From helping UX designers grow their influence and navigate conflict with empathy, to exploring inclusive collaboration and scalable content systems, each talk offered practical insights grounded in real human needs.

One message stood out across the sessions: while technology continues to evolve rapidly, understanding people remains at the heart of meaningful design. By combining modern practices with timeless human principles, the conversations reminded us that great design is built not only for scale, but also for connection.

Day 3 of UXLx was packed with inspiring sessions and practical insights. 🤩

We explored impactful service design and the realities of working within organizations, dove into frameworks for designing AI experiences and strengthen human agency, and reflected on the perception, reality, and future direction of lean design systems.
We wrapped up the day with a great session from AutonomyAI, the perfect end to another thought-provoking day at UXLx.

We explored how AI is reshaping content design, research operations, and user experiences, while also challenging us to think beyond systems theory and focus on practical action and implementation. A lot of valuable discussions around designing more human-centered AI experiences.
