The postdoctoral representatives of CNC.IBILI (Overcoming Challenges in Scientific Careers) are organizing two Workshops on Career Development with the R&D coach and Neuroscientist Ekaterina Vinnie.
These workshops are free and open to all CNC.IBILI scientific community.
To attend them, you should register in the following forms:

- "Finishing the PhD: how to turn anxiety into an actionable plan?" (20th of June from 2 to 6 pm at UCBiotech).

It's our great pleasure to announce that the R&D coach and Neuroscientist Ekaterina Vinnik is going to give 2 workshops at UCBiocant on career development. These workshops will constitute a follow-up to our forum "Overcoming challanges in scientific carees" and are open to all CNC.IBILI scientific community.

It is also time to make our final speaker announcement. Today we bring you Vincent Mignotte.

Vincent Mignotte is the Executive Director of ABG (Association Bernard Gregory), a French non-profit organization that aims to coach doctorate holders to enhance their career development and to help companies recruit PhDs. Vincent has devoted most of his career on the professional development of scientists and their integration on the private sector, as head of Human Resources for CNRS (Centre National de la Recherche Scientific, Paris, France), the largest public science institute in France.

Vincent was an Associate Professor at École Polytechnique (Paris, France) where he taught Biology, and a research group leader in the field of Molecular Genetics. He is a Certified Coach and holds a PhD in Molecular Biology and Gene Regulation.

In our website you can find out more about Pedro Madureira, co-founder and CSO at Immunethep, and the rest of our excellent panel of speakers.

Immunethep, a biotechnology company focused on drug development for immune system related pathologies. The work Pedro Madureira developed since the beginning of his scientific career follows a line of investigation started a few decades ago by Prof. Mário Arala Chaves, with the discovery of immunosuppressive molecules excreted by bacterial pathogens, so called virulence-associated immunomodulatory proteins (VIP). Currently, his main research interest is the role of a specific VIP in the host-pathogen interactions that are responsible for the high susceptibility of neonates to bacterial sepsis.

Pedro holds a BSc in Biochemistry by the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto and obtained his PhD in Biomedical Sciences at the Instituto de Ciências Biomédicas de Abel Salazar of the same university.

Nuno Afonso is an Investment Manager at Portugal Ventures, the largest venture capital operator in Portugal, focused on early stage investments in tech, life sciences and tourism. Nuno has more than 15 years of experience in healthcare innovation within both industry and academia with international scope and strong entrepreneurial attitude. This proactive attitude lead him to be the co-founder of TechnoZeb at TechnoPhage and also herapeutic Area Leader in Neuroscience and Immunology at Janssen Pharmaceutical company.

Nuno Afonso holds a BSc in Biochemistry from University of Lisbon and a PhD in Cell and Developmental Biology from Université Pierre et Marie Curie (France). He has a unique combination of scientific skillset, obtained during is PhD and as a post-doctoral researcher, and business acumen acquired through a The Lisbon MBA at Catolica-Nova.

Isabel Nascimento Ferreira is Medical Manager at a leading biopharmaceutical company focused on discovering new innovative therapies to cancer treatment. Isabel currently oversees the planning and development of Multiple Myeloma therapies in the UK. After a holding a post-doc position at the Babraham Institute (Cambridge, UK), studying neurosciences and degenerative diseases, Isabel has contributed for the exchange of clinical and scientific information between health care providers and the health industry companies while working as a Medical Science Liaison for Takeda and Abbvie, a pharmaceutical company focused on Rheumatology treatments.

Isabel has a degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences and a PhD in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology by the University of Coimbra.

Flying Sharks is a company founded in 2006, dedicated to promoting a sustainable use of the oceans and research on the marine environment. Besides being an entrepreneur, João Correia is also a professor at Escola Superior de Turismo e Tecnologia do Mar, where he teaches future marine biologists. During his career, he was also Head Diver and Curator of Collections at Oceanário de Lisboa. He is passionate to talk about sharks, global warming, conservation and related issues. This passion can also be read in his 3 published books.

Pedro Correia holds a BSc in Marine Biology and Fisheries from University of Algarve and a PhD in shark and skate commercial fisheries from University of Aveiro.
