🌍 Hoje celebra-se o Dia Nacional da Sustentabilidade em Portugal — e não podíamos deixar passar a data sem refletir sobre os pilares do turismo sustentável: pessoas, planeta & proveitos.

✨ Há progresso visível, mas também muito caminho a percorrer.

💶 Fator Económico: valor que f**a no local

A OCDE lançou este ano 24 indicadores para medir a sustentabilidade do turismo em Portugal. O mais inspirador? Avaliar como a riqueza chega às comunidades locais. Não basta contar turistas ou dormidas — é preciso garantir que o turismo cria emprego, oportunidades e desenvolvimento que realmente f**am no território.

👥 Fator Social: combater sazonalidade e valorizar comunidades

O turismo pode (e deve!) ser uma ferramenta poderosa para revitalizar o interior, valorizando o património cultural e fixando população. Mas há um desafio central: a sazonalidade. Emprego e serviços oscilam ao ritmo das épocas altas, criando desigualdade e pressão sobre infraestruturas. Tornar o turismo mais equilibrado ao longo do ano é essencial para que todos beneficiem.

🌱 Fator Ambiental: eficiência de recursos e neutralidade carbónica

Os alojamentos turísticos já começam a dar passos importantes: eficiência energética, gestão responsável da água, redução de resíduos, eliminação de plásticos. O plano Turismo +Sustentável 25-30 aponta para a economia circular e neutralidade carbónica. E claro: a mobilidade sustentável é chave para viajar e conhecer o país com menor impacto.

👉 Portugal já tem a visão e os primeiros passos estão dados. Agora é tempo de acelerar, inovar e garantir que o turismo é um motor de sustentabilidade, para pessoas, planeta e economia.

We’re proud to share that Noytrall has been selected for support under the ST3ER project – an EU initiative advancing climate-neutral and smart tourism destinations – and we’ve officially joined the Tourism 4.0 Partnership.

👉 What’s Tourism 4.0?
A global network bringing together businesses, researchers, and policymakers to apply Industry 4.0 principles—like digitalisation and data-driven decision-making—to tourism. The goal: make tourism more sustainable, inclusive, and competitive.

👉 What’s ST3ER?
ST3ER stands for Sustainable Tourism Transition Through Experimental Research. It creates real-world environments where digital and green innovations can be tested to help destinations and operators manage resources smarter and reduce their footprint.

👉 Where does Noytrall fit in?
We applied with a project rooted in sustainable building operations—helping hotels and real estate assets cut waste, optimise energy and water use, and prove impact with data.

Our work doesn’t stop at the building level: the project also explores how guest engagement can amplify impact. Because the future of tourism isn’t just efficient behind the scenes—it’s about making guests part of the sustainability journey.

⚡ For hotel managers and asset owners, this means early access to insights from one of the most forward-looking initiatives in European tourism.
