Ever wondered how a DNA test can tell you you’re “15% Italian or brazilian”? 🤔

No one is looking at your blood under a microscope searching for flags.

It’s all data.

Your DNA is a sequence of billions of letters.
Bioinformatics compares that sequence to large datasets from different populations and looks for patterns that match.

Think of it like a massive spell check for your genetic code.

That’s how raw data turns into insight.

At GENOS, this is the kind of computation happening behind the scenes every day.

If terms like DNA, genomes, or bioinformatics ever felt confusing, we’ve made them easier to understand.

We’re hiring a Bioinformatics Infrastructure Assistant to help build the systems that allow data to become insight.

This role is for someone curious, technical, and ready to learn by doing: working alongside real datasets, real projects, and real scientists.

If you want to be part of the foundation behind modern biology, this is your opportunity.

Why can one person drink an espresso late at night and sleep well, while another feels the effects after a single cup? ☕️

Part of the answer lies in genetics.

Variants in the CYP1A2 gene influence how quickly the body metabolizes caffeine.

This is a clear example of how biological differences affect everyday responses.

The same principle applies at a much larger scale in precision medicine. By analyzing genetic variation, scientists can better understand how individuals respond to treatments, enabling more accurate dosing and more effective therapies.

At GENOS, we focus on translating this type of biological data into meaningful insights.

If you’ve ever been confused by scientific terms, we’ve built a glossary to make them easier to understand.

When people imagine science, they usually picture lab coats, pipettes, and petri dishes.

But inside a bioinformatics company, the day looks a little different.

It starts with data.
Datasets from researchers. New questions. New patterns to explore.

Most of the work is thinking, testing ideas, and asking the right questions:
Is this signal real?
What does this pattern mean?
How does this molecule behave?

Some days the data comes from cancer studies.
Other days it’s public health research.
Sometimes it’s molecules that have never been studied before.

Less lab coats. More laptops.
Still science — just a different frontier.

This is bioinformatics.
This is GENOS.

What does it actually look like to work with GENOS?

From the first discovery call to final interpretation, we focus on clarity, rigor, and collaboration.

We run analyses.
We help shape study design, define realistic timelines, maintain quality control, and translate results into decisions.

Our goal is to build long-term research partnerships grounded in transparency and scientific integrity.

This is how GENOS works behind the scenes.
Real science. Real structure. Real collaboration.

Follow .bio to see how we support research teams around the world.

Your body is home to trillions of microbes, and together they carry far more genes than your own human genome. These microbes help digest food, support your immune system, and even influence how you feel.

Bioinformatics is how scientists study this hidden world, using DNA data to understand how our microbial ecosystem shapes health and disease.

Your body isn’t just one organism.
It’s an entire ecosystem.

Science is wild.
This is GENOS.

Last year, we presented our work publicly for the first time at the UAGM Opioid Crisis Forum.

We were in a room full of doctors, psychologists, and forensic scientists. The people who are actually out there on the frontlines saving lives.

And we’re the ones who usually sit behind screens all day. 💻

But being there reminded us why we do this.

We shared the “digital simulator” we built with the ChEMTox Lab: a tool that screens dangerous drugs virtually to help researchers understand them faster and safer.

It was a cool realization: Bioinformatics isn’t just code. It’s public health.

Proud to be the “computer guys” helping to build tools that help the public health. 🚀

Every medication you’ve ever taken went through years of data analysis.

Computational models help scientists predict how a drug behaves, how safe it is, and how effective it might be long before clinical trials begin.

Bioinformatics is behind all of it.

This is about BIOLEAP and a moment of real growth for GENOS.

BIOLEAP was one of those programs that makes you pause, reflect, and sharpen everything you’re building. For us, it pushed GENOS to look closely at our business, our message, and how we translate complex science into clear, meaningful value.

Throughout the program, we learned how to talk about bioinformatics in a way that feels real and accessible. We also gained a deeper understanding of Puerto Rico’s innovation landscape, where research is happening, how academic partnerships grow, and how deep-tech companies like ours navigate different markets.

The people made the experience. Mentors, founders, researchers, and partners who challenged our thinking and helped us refine our direction at a key moment of growth.

We’re grateful for the guidance, the conversations, and the doors this experience opened. GENOS is moving forward with a stronger foundation, clearer focus, and the same commitment to building science that matters.

Thank you, BIOLEAP, for being part of our journey.

Your DNA is written in 3.2 billion letters.
That’s more information than any human could read in a lifetime.

Computers and algorithms make it possible to scan those letters, find patterns, and uncover insights hidden inside our biology. This is how modern science understands disease, development, and health at scale.

This is bioinformatics.
This is GENOS.
