At CSG Industry Days 2026 in Paris, European Space Agency - ESA Space Agency and Centre National d'Études Spatiales brought industry together to discuss the next phase of activity at the Guiana Space Centre in Kourou.

Our CEO, Krzysztof Gąsior, and CTO, Paweł Grzywocz, spent the event discussing our work with CSG so far and meeting companies looking for partners in Kourou.

In the video, they share their first impressions of the event.

Thank you to ESA and CNES for hosting.

Yesterday at CSG Industry Days 2026, Krzysztof Gąsior and Paweł Grzywocz presented “A CSG Success Story: Iterative Engineering.”

Thank you to the organizers for inviting us to share our story, and to everyone who joined the session for being there, for the great feedback, and for the conversations that followed. We’ll share more from the session soon, in better quality.

Day 1 also brought many inspiring conversations, some of which continued long after the official programme ended, in a slightly less formal Paris setting.

Today, we continue. Another round of B2B meetings is already underway, alongside a number of interesting presentations about CSG and the operations of Europe’s Spaceport in Kourou.

A rainy start to Day 1 of CSG Industry Days in Paris.

The Iterative Engineering team is at European Space Agency Headquarters - and the conversations are already underway.

Later today, it’s our turn to take the stage.

Sealed transfer between facilities

At CSG, a payload can travel between buildings without ever being exposed to the tropical air outside.

This is the eighth post in our series on payload preparations. After satellite checkout, the campaign may need to move the payload again, this time between different facilities while maintaining its controlled environment.

For that, CSG uses specialised payload containers known as CCUs. These are much more than transport boxes. Some versions can drive directly up to a facility and form a sealed connection with its entrance.

In practice, the transfer can involve:
• moving the payload inside a controlled transport container
• docking the transporter directly to the facility
• sealing the connection before the doors are opened
• maintaining pressure differences and limiting the inflow of outside air.

Only then can the payload move into the next building without being directly exposed to the conditions outside.

In French Guiana, this is especially important. Heat, humidity, and airborne contaminants are part of the environment, while spacecraft may need to move between facilities without compromising the conditions maintained throughout the campaign.

The scale can make things even more complicated. James Webb, for example, was too large for the internal corridor connecting parts of S5, so its transfer required an external route between buildings.

For a broader look at the full launch campaign process, not just this stage, see our full article. It draws on our work developing a digital tool for payload campaign operations and on firsthand experience at the Guiana Space Centre, within the European launch ecosystem of ESA and CNES.

Iterative Engineering was invited to present “A CSG Success Story” at this year’s CSG Industry Days in Paris.

The session will take place at the headquarters of European Space Agency - ESA in Paris.

Krzysztof Gąsior and Paweł Grzywocz will talk about how we started working at CSG without previous experience in Kourou or an established local network, what challenges we faced, and what helped us move from first conversations to a real project.

One project that grew from that experience is LaunchReady, a system that supports payload preparation during launch campaigns. It was developed together with teams from CSG & CNES and later tested with future users during an on-site simulation at Europe’s Spaceport in French Guiana.

The presentation will also cover what we learned along the way: how we built trust, what proved difficult, what changed once the project was underway, and why we decided to keep investing in our presence in Kourou.

We’re glad to have the opportunity to share that experience at CSG Industry Days.

If you’re in Paris, join the session and come talk to us afterwards during the networking reception.

We built a tool for finding project sites.

Choosing a site for a solar farm, a wind or biogas plant, a warehouse, or a housing scheme is rarely just a question of which land is for sale. Terrain, utilities, zoning restrictions, plot shape, and access to whatever the project runs on all feed into cost and feasibility. Checking that by hand across a few thousand plots takes weeks, and most of the work is repetitive.

That is what Geo-Finder is for. It pulls together geodetic registry records, satellite and aerial imagery, and LiDAR terrain models, then screens locations against the criteria you set.
Geo-Finder will not make any decisions for your investment team. It hands them a shorter list, with better data behind it.

How it works:
1. You set your criteria.
2. Geo-Finder screens thousands of plots against them.
3. You filter and compare the results in a dedicated review tool.
4. You export to GIS and overlay your own layers.
5. Your team spends its time on the sites worth the attention.

Depending on the project, Geo-Finder can:
• Find plots that meet your parameters.
• Analyse terrain and gradients.
• Measure distance to roads, grid connections and other assets the project depends on.
• Spot objects that point to feedstock availability for biogas.
• Screen a far larger pool of sites than a manual review allows.

Once you have a shortlist, our legal partners can take it further, including approaching landowners.

Geo-Finder covers solar PV, wind and biogas projects, along with real estate and industrial developments, in European and North American markets.

The tool grew out of time spent with people who assess sites for a living, working out which parts of that job software could take over.

Rockets and satellites usually get most of the attention. At ESA Industry Space Days, the part of the industry that stays on the ground was just as interesting.

That was clear from the programme itself, with dedicated sessions on ground systems engineering, ground segment, software, data, and automation.

This is also where Iterative Engineering feels at home. We work at the intersection of software, data, and operations, where technology has to fit real processes and real infrastructure.

More than 2,500 participants. 201 exhibition booths. And thousands of pre-scheduled one-to-one meetings.

This year’s European Space Agency - ESA Industry Space Days is its biggest B2B space event yet – and the scale says something about where the European space sector is heading.

ISD is built around cooperation. Startups, SMEs, larger industrial players and ESA teams come to Noordwijk not only to present what they do, but to find customers, suppliers and partners for future projects.

That matters beyond these two days at ESTEC.

Europe is competing in a global space market where the US and China are moving at enormous scale. Strong technology remains essential, but so does the ability to bring specialised companies together, build effective consortia and turn expertise into projects that can compete internationally.

We see the value of that model ourselves at Iterative Engineering. Paweł Grzywocz explains why in the video.

And with another day of meetings ahead, there are still plenty of conversations to have.
