The winning project from our Momentum Health Hackathon, Family Care, tackles something most families struggle with: scattered medical records and the complexity of managing family health.

🔹 The problem: Medical documentation lives everywhere—paper files in drawers, notes from different visits, trying to remember which specialist you saw last year. You don't know what appointments you need to book next. When you need that information, you're searching through chaos. Managing this for an entire family makes it even worse.

🔹 What Family Care does: A secure digital platform that stores medical documentation for your whole family in one place. Visit summaries, dates, which doctor you saw—all organized and accessible. But it goes beyond storage: it helps you figure out what appointments you need to book next and track wellness goals for each family member. From your toddler's vaccination schedule to grandparents' medication routines, everything in one spot.

The team integrated NFZ (Polish public healthcare) appointment booking with visibility into average wait times at different facilities. Instead of calling around or refreshing websites hoping for availability, you see the average number of days you'll wait at each facility and can make informed decisions about where to book.

🔹 Why it won: Family Care solved multiple real problems in one solution. The team delivered a working platform that handles organization (where are our records?), planning (what appointments do we need?), and action (where should we book?). Twenty-four hours from concept to functional demo.

This past weekend, we wrapped our first Momentum Health Hackathon, and here's what actually went down: four healthcare AI projects built in 24 hours. 🚀

These weren't random ideas. Each project tackles real challenges we see across healthcare development:

🛠️ Doctor Pepper AI - Monitors NFZ (Polish public healthcare) appointment availability and notifies you the moment a slot opens up for services you're waiting for. Solves the endless refresh problem when trying to book healthcare appointments.

🛠️ Fit Happens - Natural language interface for Apple Health data. Ask questions about your health metrics and get personal insights without wrestling with charts and exports. Makes wearables data actually useful for everyday health decisions.

🛠️ Phisio Coach - Mobile app that uses your iPhone camera to verify exercise form in real-time. Runs a local AI model directly on device for instant feedback during physiotherapy exercises. No cloud, no latency, just immediate correction.

✨ WINNERS: Family Care - Aggregates all your medical records in one place, uses AI to generate summaries, and helps you find the nearest available appointment in the public healthcare system. Addresses the fragmentation problem in patient data access.

This is how we innovate—our engineering team, leadership, and technical experts taking time to explore solutions that can actually help healthcare providers work smarter. Some of these projects may evolve into tools we offer to clients or release as open source.

What a weekend! 🚀

Our first Momentum Health Hackathon is officially wrapped, and wow, the energy was incredible from start to finish.

Over 24 hours, our teams dove deep into the world of HealthTech, tackling real challenges in Clinical Decision Support, FHIR interoperability, and medical workflow automation. From Friday evening kickoff through Saturday's final demos, the creativity and technical skill on display was outstanding.

The highlights:
✨ Innovative solutions built with our open source tools
✨ Teams mixing FE, BE, and non-technical talent to solve real healthcare problems
✨ Working demos that could genuinely impact how healthcare technology works
✨ Late-night coding sessions fueled by pizza, energy drinks, and pure determination
✨ Mentors from Healthion supporting teams every step of the way

We gathered talented people who came to learn about US healthcare standards, build AI agents, work with MCP servers, and most importantly - prove that making healthcare tech accessible to developers isn't just possible, it's happening.

This was the first in our new hackathon series, and it set the bar high. The projects that came out of this weekend? Some might just become our next open source tools.

Big thanks to everyone who made this possible: the participants who brought their A-game, the mentors who guided teams through the complexity of healthcare tech, and everyone who believed in the vision of making HealthTech development more accessible.

Projekt dotyczy realizacji prac badawczo-rozwojowych zespołu projektowego nad opracowaniem nowoczesnej usługi online, która będzie pomagała seniorom w łatwy i intuicyjny sposób znaleźć ciekawe sposoby spędzania wolnego czasu – od lokalnych wydarzeń po propozycje turystyczne. Dzięki wykorzystaniu sztucznej inteligencji i danych o preferencjach użytkowników, system automatycznie będzie dopasowywał najlepsze opcje do potrzeb, możliwości i miejsca zamieszkania każdej osoby. Efektem projektu będzie kompleksowy system rekomendacyjny oparty na autorskich rozwiązaniach z zakresu sztucznej inteligencji, w tym wyjaśnialnego algorytmu AI (XAI) oraz predykcyjnego modelu PAI.
