Yesterday was Dzień Chłopaka (Boys’ Day) here in Poland, so we got together at the office to celebrate with a Kinder Surprise-flavoured ice cream cake. 🍰 A bit of catching up, something sweet and a good excuse to spend some time together away from our desks.

A few photos from Mikolaj Schatt’s visit to Agent Conf in Warsaw! 📸

Our React & React Native developer has been attending the organisers’ events for years. This time, AI agents took centre stage, with sessions on using them to build software and keeping track of what they actually do. The programme also left room for a bigger discussion about how developers’ work is changing.

Mikolaj came back with plenty to think about. Teams were trying quite different approaches, sometimes with resources that would be hard to match elsewhere. Hearing those experiences gave him ideas to consider, along with questions about what would make sense in his own projects.

He recognised some of the changes already, especially how working with AI lets him try out ideas during conversations about the product. And as our catch-up confirmed, there’s still plenty to discuss once the conference is over.

A colleague shows you the game he’s been building in his spare time, and the chat starts asking for Steam codes. That’s how things went at Friday’s TechTalks #3. This time, Fryta gave us a tour of his shop simulator. He’s been building it with AI, without previous experience in game development, and shared what it took to get a working prototype on screen. The demo sparked a few questions, along with requests for Steam codes.

Kopacki brought a different set of stories: AI agents with access to money and resources, and the unexpected things they did with that freedom. There was plenty to discuss about when to let an agent get on with a task and where to draw the line.

These sessions are also a chance to see a different side of the people we work with. A personal project can turn into a demo for the whole team, with colleagues asking questions and volunteering to try it themselves.

August had a pretty decent social calendar at Kellton Europe!

Earlier this month, a small Kellton “delegation” headed to Spain for the total solar eclipse on August 12 🌒

A few days later, part of the team made it to Manchester United vs AC Milan at Tarczyński Arena in Wrocław. Six goals, a 4:2 win for Milan and a pretty good excuse to spend an evening together outside work.

And last Friday, we kept things a little more local with a company bonfire. Different groups, different plans, but quite a few reasons to get away from Slack for a while.

We’ve had two TechTalks at Kellton Europe so far, and the idea behind them is pretty simple.

There’s a lot happening in tech right now, especially around AI, and keeping track of all of it is difficult even when you work with technology every day.

TechTalks give us a reason to bring some of those topics into the same room. Someone shares something they’ve been looking into, and the conversation grows from there: questions, examples, different opinions and things worth checking afterwards.

Michał Kopacki, our Senior Director – EU Practice Leader, is one of the people behind the series, together with Karolina Karska and others across the team who help shape each edition.

So far, we’ve talked about AI tools and agents, but also about data, privacy, access to models and some of the less obvious questions that appear once these tools become part of everyday work.

And that’s really the point. TechTalks give people space to test ideas out loud, challenge assumptions and leave with a better understanding of how a topic might affect their work.

Our office was packed for yesterday's AI MeetUp! We spent the evening digging into what it actually looks like to build software with these tools right now.

What have we learned? 👇

🟣 Olga Pycia showed us that while Figma Make is great for spinning up a fast MVP, the technical structure is usually a mess. It gives you a head start, but you’re still going to spend plenty of time cleaning up layers afterward.

🟣 Kamil Jeziorny walked us through why "vibe coding" doesn't really work without a solid plan.

🟣 Mateusz Jasiński convinced us that orchestration is the new essential skill. Whether you’re generating 1,600 unit tests or a 20,000-line game, the job is shifting - some of us are basically becoming managers of AI agents.

Huge thanks to our speakers for being so direct about their process. We’re definitely going to need a follow-up session 😏

If you’re still hiring engineers based on how fast they can whiteboard a binary tree, you’re building a very fast, very brittle team. We’ve all worked with that one genius who writes brilliant code but makes the rest of the team want to quiet-quit during every PR review 😵‍💫

The highest-paid, highest-impact engineers are as good with the tech stack as they are with the "human stack."

They know how to:
🍀 Negotiate a deadline without starting a war.
🍀 Take user feedback without making it personal.
🍀 Write for humans, not just for the compiler.

You can debug messy code, but you can’t debug a toxic culture. In a world of automated dev tools, soft skills are the only thing you can't outsource.

POV: An AI agent just "read" your website and told a potential client you do something you definitely don’t 🤦‍♂️

In our reality, the first person to visit your website isn't a person at all - it's a bot. Think about it. When was the last time you manually trawled through 10 websites to compare software? Exactly. You either asked old, rusty Google or went straight to ChatGPT, Gemini, or Perplexity to "find the best option for X" instead.

These AI agents are now building answers by interpreting your site at a structural level. If your Machine Experience (MX) is messy, you’re basically invisible to the new AI-mediated web.

The AI "Honeymoon" just hit the 2026 reality check. The data is pretty blunt: 71% of CIOs have until mid-year to prove their AI projects are actually making money, or the budget gets a haircut. The problem is, most teams are trying to automate messy, broken processes instead of actually redesigning them. It’s why nearly 40% of these projects are currently face-planting, at least according to the new Deloitte Tech Trends Report.

Seems like it's time to stop treating AI like a science fair project and start treating it like core infrastructure (whether we like it or not, which is a whole other topic).
