Finding valuable forensic data isn't always straightforward. Sometimes, it takes a detailed inspection of the entire PCB before the right memory chip can be identified.

During our research on the ZE-NC20110 system found in the VW Golf, the eMMC memory chip was only identified after removing the cartridge. Once the ISP points were located, we successfully acquired the data without performing a chip-off.

Research like this helps us continuously expand the capabilities of our Vehicle Data Reconstructor, enabling support for an ever-growing range of vehicle systems and forensic scenarios.🔎

𝗗𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄?💡
One of the powerful features of VNR software is ECC Correction during chip reading, allowing ECC correction to run on one chip while another chip is still being read on multi-chip devices.

When combined with Advanced Read Fine Tuning, this parallel workflow significantly improves efficiency. Fine tuning delivers excellent initial dump quality, allowing ECC correction to resolve most remaining bit errors automatically.
The result? By the time the final chip has been read, dumps from previous chips may already be corrected and ready to use.

It’s another example of how VNR software helps reduce processing time while improving the efficiency of data recovery workflows.

We’re expanding the capabilities of VDR with three new ISP modules:

🔷 Module 6 – Solderless ISP acquisition for Panasonic MIB1 infotainment systems with navigation (VW, Skoda, Seat)

🔷 Module 7 – Solderless ISP acquisition for TechniSat/Preh MIB2 infotainment systems with navigation (VW, Skoda, Seat)

🔷 Module 8 – Soldering ISP acquisition for Harman Uconnect VP3 infotainment systems with navigation (Dodge and other vehicles)

These additions provide forensic examiners with even more options for acquiring valuable data from vehicle infotainment systems.
