⚽ Sports Direct is planning to take over the GO Sport Polska chain. We've checked whether the company will be able to benefit from the potential of all the locations. A few shops don't seem like a very certain business move. 🧐

GO Sport manages a network of 26 stationary retail shops in Poland. Not all their locations seem to be a good choice to join the group of 13 Sports Direct shops on the Polish market. 🔍

➡ In Wrocław, the two shops of these brands are only 400 m apart! Therefore, converting a shop into a Sports Direct branch could be problematic, as it would most likely lead to cannibalisation.

➡ Dataplace's analysis shows that 78% of people who visit Sports Direct in Wroclaw also visit GO Sport, but only 54% of people who visit GO Sport also go to Sports Direct. This means that more people in this particular area prefer Go Sport as a shopping destination.

➡ The less than ideal sign is the information that just 550 m away is another competitor – Decathlon.

➡ Within a radius of 500 m from the shops there are less than 40,000 people per day. Such a close location of three sports shops can be challenging in terms of attracting enough customers. In addition, it is worth noting that the area is a shopping centre, so there is a range of different shops that attract the vast majority of this traffic.

💡There are numerous of great locations in the pot that could strengthen Sports Direct's position in the Polish market. However, it is always worth looking at individual outlets as there may be some rotten apples among them.

DM drugstore enters Poland! We checked if their first location was surely a wise choice! 🎯

German drugstore chain dm-drogerie markt Deutschland is launching first outlet on the Polish market. Its first store will appear in Galaktyka Park shopping center in . DM targets people who appreciate affordable prices and a wide range of products. What are the key features of this area? Will the company find a target group? 🤔

Our analyses have shown that around 76,000 people pass by the building every day, but only 31% of them are permanent residents within a 10-minute walk from the shopping center. 🏘

The demographic profile shows that elderly people (above 65 y.o) represent 25.5% of the population, but the average age is 37 years. Women make up 58.4% of residents compared to 41.6% of men.

Expenditure on the items offered in the DM product range amounts to: Hygiene and Beauty 123 PLN (27 Euro) per capita and a total of 444 692 PLN per month (98 785 Euro). For products needed to maintain the home, the average resident spends 64 PLN per month (14 Euro), which amounts to 230 740 (51 257 Euro).💸 💸

Average earnings within 10-min walk from the Galaktyka Park is 3 760,11PLN netto (834,80 Euro). 84.8% city residents on average earn less than residents in the analysed location. 💰💰

According to analyses, within a 10-minute walking distance the DM will not have direct competition, which will certainly have a positive impact on customer capture and revenue.

It looks like DM has done their homework and analysed the location.
