What connects a swimming pool in the UK and a spa in New York?

Both use DCX PRO 9 immersion tank technology to capture and reuse heat generated by computing infrastructure.

🔸In Devon, UK, a washing-machine-sized Data Center helps heat a public swimming pool, reducing energy costs and demonstrating how excess heat can be recovered and put to practical use. It’s a strong Proof of Concept, showing what’s possible when computing and energy infrastructure start working together.

🔸The New York project takes the concept a step further. A spa facility with multiple immersion tanks uses recovered computing heat as a full-scale heating solution for the building. Heat from computing infrastructure is captured through heat exchangers and used to warm spa pools, creating an efficient heat recovery cycle.

It's the same technology, but applied at a different scale and for a different purpose.

What happens when you combine high-density liquid cooling with infrastructure designed for future growth from day one? Our Louisiana installation is a great example.

The goal was not only to build a mining setup that delivers strong performance today. It was also about creating a system that can grow easily as future needs change.

🔸The initial deployment included 5 racks built with DCX PRO 9 immersion tanks, supporting a total of 120 miners, alongside 2x DCX 240 kW Dry Coolers.
🔸The entire deployment was planned and integrated into the design to allow future expansion with an additional DCX 240 kW Dry Cooler and 2 more racks.
🔸The system was designed so future scaling can be carried out easily, without requiring another DCX service team deployment on-site. The customer will be able to add two additional racks using pre-configured components delivered by us, keeping the process simple, fast, and straightforward.

To accelerate deployment, Dry Cooler connections were built using stainless steel INOX press-fit piping technology:

Did you know that simply rotating miners inside an immersion tank can reduce temperatures by up to 10°C?

We recently ran a short non-laboratory immersion cooling test using Bitmain Antminer T21 units, immersed in our DCX Bitpod immersion tank. By rotating the miners upside down with the cables facing down, we noticed significantly lower operating temperatures.

🔸Temperature before rotation: ~43-65°C
🔸Temperature after rotation: ~33-55°C

During a short one-hour real-world test, the miners consistently operated at temperatures that were up to 10°C lower compared to the standard positioning, which potentially creates much more room for performance optimization and higher power settings.

Why does it matter?
At the factory power level of around 3.5 kW, the miners were operating near 200 TH/s. With lower temperatures, there is additional thermal headroom, which may allow increasing power usage to around 4 kW and potentially pushing performance closer to 250 TH/s.

This experiment highlights how even small physical setup changes can improve cooling efficiency and unlock additional performance potential in immersion environments.

☝️ The test was a short real-world test, so results may vary, and any miner rotation should be performed at your own risk.

Is immersion cooling flammable? 🔥

Immersion cooling fluids used in Crypto Mining are dielectric and non-flammable, meaning they do not conduct electricity and are specifically engineered for safe contact with live hardware. By fully submerging ASICs, they help limit oxygen availability for combustion, meaning no sustained combustion under normal conditions.

👉 Even in extreme scenarios, ignition remains extremely unlikely in industrial environments. Heating around 600-1000L of fluid to ~180°C, reaching the flash or fire point, while simultaneously introducing oxygen and an ignition source requires conditions far beyond standard operational environments. In practice, safety is primarily determined by key parameters such as flash point and autoignition temperature, both of which are well above normal operating ranges.

What’s more, modern immersion fluids are designed with high flash points and fire-resistant properties, significantly reducing fire risk compared to traditional air-cooled setups, while miners usually automatically shut down around ~90°C, long before any risk appears.

We’re presenting one of our deployments for a company located in Spain that manufactures elevators. Their facility is powered by solar panels, which fully cover their operational needs, including the production of industrial elevators. Every month they generate surplus energy and instead of letting that excess go to waste, they’ve turned it into an opportunity.

Noise can be one of the biggest barriers to home Crypto Mining when air cooling is used instead of liquid cooling.

Air-cooled ASIC miners typically generate 70-82 dB, which is comparable to standing next to heavy traffic or running a vacuum cleaner non-stop. This comes from high-speed fans spinning at 8,000-15,000 RPM to keep chip temperatures under control.

And this is where the difference becomes clear: a quick look at the numbers is enough to see which cooling approach is more efficient and practical for modern mining setups.

🔸 Immersion cooling eliminates fans entirely by submerging miners in dielectric fluid, which enables near-silent operation through passive heat transfer, as you can hear in the video below. Compared to air cooling, where noise typically reaches 70-82 dB, this is a dramatic reduction in acoustic impact.

🔸 Hydro cooling typically operates at 45-50 dB at the miner level, which is comparable to a quiet conversation, while still maintaining active but low-speed cooling. The full system, including the dry cooler, can reach around 55-70 dB, depending on the installation and configuration, however dry coolers are usually placed outside the building, so their noise is not audible indoors.

🔸 In addition, liquid cooling systems offer significantly improved thermal performance and energy recovery efficiency, reaching 88-94%, whereas air cooling is less efficient and relies heavily on high-RPM fans to maintain stable chip temperatures.
