At Egnyte, we build solutions that help customers to store and manage all their data (Egnyte Connect), and to protect it (Egnyte Protect). Rooted in the startup culture of Silicon Valley, we operate at significant scale, supporting millions of customers, storing petabytes of data and handling thousands of requests per second. Our back-end systems are built primarily in Java, but we use Python and a touch of node.js and Go as well. We store data in MySQL, Redis, BigQuery and Bigtable. Our infrastructure is a hybrid of our own data centers and the Google Cloud Platform. We deploy and operate our systems using Terraform, Puppet, Ansible, Docker, and Kubernetes. But our back-end is only part of the story. Our customers primarily interact with our cloud in many ways: our web front-ends (built using React.js, Backbone, Redux), desktop apps for Windows (C++) and Mac (Objective-C), mobile apps for iOS (Objective-C), Android (Java) and Windows Phone (JavaScript), and on-prem hybrid solutions (Python running on VMs running on VMWare and Hyper-V). Day to day, our teams use agile methodologies such scrum and kanban to get the job done, and to continuously improve.
