Data is the future of business intelligence!

Take the banks, for example. Each of them oversees confidential information. The bigger the bank, the more transactions - several billion transactions a day are standard. That requires enormous computing power, and changes in data must be tracked and secure. Managing this level of information requires good infrastructure.

But are only banks faced with such challenges?

Today, businesses are generating in terabytes, and the challenge is to understand that and not to slow down performance.

So what will define success?

The ability to quickly analyze multiple sets, leverage new insights, and act on that information for growth, from the supply chain to the customer journey. The future of business is management, to be precise.

What does digitization mean to you? 🤔

You will probably say that the topic is extensive, and it is difficult to answer this question in just one word or even a sentence. And I agree with that.

The path to digitization is not only the digitization of organizational and administrative tasks. It is much more. I would even say that it is necessary to remodel the entire company's strategy and adjust it to lead to innovation and respond best to the needs and expectations of customers.

I have never hidden the fact that I am passionate about car racing 😊 I both like to watch it on TV from the comfort of the couch and sit behind the wheel myself to feel the taste of a real speed.

That's why I read with great enthusiasm the article that I found on one of my favourite portals - WIRED. Already the title caught my attention - a combination of car racing and AI!
This is something for me and another proof that technology is rushing forward like a speeding Bugatti Chiron.

But let's get to the point.

SONY has just created an Artificial Intelligence named GT Sophy, which goal is to achieve the best possible racing results in the video game Gran Turismo. GT Sophy can now boast of a victory in the game with the world champion - Japanese Takuma Miyazono.
That, however, is not the whole point, and the testing of GT Sophy is heading towards something more fascinating. GT Sophy can significantly impact the development and construction of real autonomous, self-steering cars by training in video games!

Currently, these types of cars use neural network algorithms. GT Sophy also used such algorithms to track road markings and other vehicles or obstacles in the game to achieve great results. This success of AI gives hope that neural networks can one day play a significant role in automated vehicles software.

Additionally, GT Sophy shows how much simulated environments have become essential to real AI systems. It also gives a chance to improve the security of such solutions significantly.

But there's something even more in it!
The type of AI algorithm developed for GT Sophy may also be helpful for other kinds of machines, such as drones and robots that work with or help people.

Every day, I find out how AI solutions help, automate, and accelerate my clients' businesses. From my point of view, AI is a real game-changer in the digital world.

The world of technology will probably never cease to surprise me.

It's Friday again! 😊

On Monday, we were talking about how to prepare a Cloud strategy effectively - what to pay attention to and avoid.

Now let's continue that topic because it is essential, and we believe Cloud can accelerate a company's path to digitization. Secondly, we are curious how many of you have implemented the Cloud strategy and how many plans to do so.

Clients often ask if it is easy to implement Cloud effectively.

Unfortunately, many of them think that it is enough to move all on-premise applications to the Cloud, and it's ready. However, that does not mean a reasonable and practical transformation, and it certainly will not provide the full benefits of cloud solutions.

What will help then?

The actual value of Cloud comes when we don't consider migration as a one-time action but as part of an overall digital transformation strategy.

That is crucial! Proper implementation of Cloud helps to ensure infrastructure security, create new opportunities, introduce innovative business solutions and much more. Companies that think about the Cloud can conquer the world and create an IT infrastructure fit for the digital world.

Make your company a company. Sounds real to you? Sounds like a dream? Or maybe sounds like a tough nut to crack?

Today I want to help you a little bit with this topic.

One big part of digital transformation in the organisation is Cloud migration. But to do it effectively and correctly, you need a concise plan driven by a business strategy which will be a far-reaching guide for those who will implement a Cloud strategy. And you need to stick to it, no matter what.

An excellent guide on how to do that can be a Gartner’s report which includes 10 tips on avoiding mistakes in Cloud strategy.🧐

I want to share the 4 most interesting from my perspective. 😊
I think it will be a valuable dose of knowledge for you. So let’s begin.

1️⃣ Involve the business – Cloud Strategy is not only an IT “thing.”

Cloud computing is not just a technology topic. Involve other people from the organisation, like HR, legal and finance departments, and you will be surprised how valuable feedback they can give you on Cloud strategy. In the end, the whole organisation will be using Cloud, and not just IT.

2️⃣ Devise an exit strategy

Many companies think they don’t need an exit strategy if they once decided to start with Cloud. It’s not the best way for creating a Cloud strategy. Prepare such an exit plan, even if you will never use it. It may happen that you will need to bring your workloads back to on-premises. An exit handbook will be then beneficial. Remember to include there the possibility of changing cloud providers.

3️⃣ Keep an open mind and don’t equate a Cloud strategy with “we are moving everything to Cloud.”

This is not a good approach because it may people think that they will need to implement Cloud for absolutely everything from now on. So instead, when creating a strategy, keep an open mind engage other people (e.g. enterprise architect) from the organisation to revise your plan.

4️⃣ Make your strategy more than “we are cloud-first.”

Remember that Cloud strategy is about something more than just being cloud-first. It is just one aspect, and you need to follow more advice to prepare an excellent strategic plan for Cloud in your organisation. Additionally – the cloud-first assumption shouldn’t force people to use Cloud.

For me, it's Artificial Intelligence - I am passionate about this topic professionally and privately.

A couple of weeks ago, I asked you to vote about the biggest challenges facing AI in 2022. Opinions were divided. Most of you answered that is a lack of knowledge about AI.

But is it so?😏

I have recently run into an Ipsos survey performed on 19,504 adults in 28 countries (November - December 2021), which shows that nearly two-thirds of respondents said they have a good understanding of AI.

What is more, it turns out that citizens of emerging countries are much more likely than citizens of higher-income ones to report being knowledgeable of AI. They also have greater trust in companies using AI and positively evaluate the impact of AI-based products and services on their lives.

You have probably heard more than once about - its advantages and benefits for a company.

What if we went a step further and thought about combining software development and maintenance teams with the IT security department?

It is called - an effective way to shorten the time spent working on implementation projects.

Companies using the method often forget about security in today's fast-paced world. And this is extremely important in a digital environment - full of hackers, computer viruses, etc.

Therefore, the key is the involvement of IT security experts throughout the project phase. It will allow for ongoing detection of vulnerabilities and immediate actions to improve security. In addition, that approach prevents costs if the security department discovers the critical areas only at the end of the project when their removal is not that easy.
