Klipsch La Scala , zrobiły takie wrażenie podczas kampanii wyborczej w 1963 , że ludzie zaczęli je kupować do swoich domów . Ten model produkowany jest do dziś w kolejnej wersji i nadal zachwyca . Klipsch rządzi !!

FUN FACT: It wasn't designed for home audio first. The La Scala was originally built in 1963 as a portable public address speaker for Arkansas gubernatorial candidate Winthrop Rockefeller's campaign. Its performance was so impressive that people started bringing it into their homes, creating one of the most iconic hi-fi speakers ever made.

When thousands of audiophiles were asked to name the greatest speakers ever made, the Klipschorn, first released in 1946, topped the list and it wasn't particularly close. In fact, Klipsch as a brand dominated the entire poll.

Paul Klipsch designed the Klipschorns with a simple but clever idea. Instead of fighting the room, use it. The Klipschorn fires its folded bass horn directly into the corner walls, turning the room itself into an extension of the speaker. That gives it a sensitivity of 105 dB, meaning it can fill a large space with just a handful of watts from a tube amp.

The current model, the AK7, still follows that original vision with some modern driver upgrades added.

But the real surprises come further down the rankings. Vintage budget speakers that originally sold for under $100 landed alongside systems that cost more than most cars, and a few picks on this list will catch even longtime audiophiles off guard.

Chapter 17 | A THREE WAY?

Back when it was first invented, a two-way (tweeter and woofer) Klipschorn with a frequency response up to 12Khz was generally adequate for the program material created up to that time. However, by the early 1950s, recording processes and playback technology had improved fidelity substantially, especially in high frequency detail, by using magnetic tape.

Due to the difficulty and expense of getting a mid-range driver to reach to the top end of the extended range now available with modern playback machines, the factory began converting Klipschorns to a three-way (tweeter, squawker, woofer) configuration in 1951.

The first three-way Klipschorn incorporated a Jensen RP203 tweeter. The University MID-T-4401 replaced the Jensen as the tweeter of choice later that year. It was not until mid-1952 that all units were finally converted to the three-way design still used today.
