Banking Academy lands in Łódź! 🚀
Something exciting just started, the first Banking Academy: DTC Lodz Edition is officially here! This series of face-to-face workshops is designed to bridge the gap between IT expertise and banking domain knowledge.

Our goal? To empower our tech experts from the Key Area CIO CC with deep insights into the financial world. From Trading and Risk Management to Treasury and Payment Transactions, we’re turning complex banking theory into practical, hands-on skills.

Global roots, local impact 🌍
This initiative wouldn't be possible without our colleagues from other hubs. A huge shout-out to Milena Simeonova from DTC Bulgaria, who pioneered the program in Sofia, and to Peter Chobot from DTC Prague for continuing the journey. Thank you both for your support and for sharing the blueprint with us!

Now, it’s time for Łódź: Michał Maciejewski, Małgorzata Krajewska, Aneta Krysztofiak, and Aleksandra Pirek, thank you for bringing this initiative to our local teams.

Business Intelligence in practice at Lodz University of Technology! 🎓
Last week, we visited the FTIMS faculty at Politechnika Łódzka to spot with students of the “Business Intelligence Tools” course. It was a great opportunity to share our daily work as part of our cooperation with the ICT Cluster.

Anna Surmańska and Kamila Zawada took the stage to talk about what building BI solutions really looks like in the real world — from designing user-friendly apps to automating workflows and exploring how AI is shaking up data analytics. 🤖

What made this visit so special? The atmosphere! It was full of curiosity and great questions. These talks always remind us how vital it is to bridge the gap between academic theory and business practice.

🚀 The Power of Community in Mentoring
The strength of a program lies in the community behind it. 🤝

While our BigUp mentoring relationships are currently underway, we recently hosted an onsite meeting for our mentors. At Commerzbank, mentoring is about more than just individual growth—it is about creating a space where 25 mentors can connect, exchange experiences, and support one another.

💡 Collaboration in action
This year, our mentoring pairs are diving deep into diverse areas such as leadership, technology, project management and soft skills. The onsite session provided a perfect opportunity for mentors to:

Discuss best practices in professional development.

AI is part of our toolbox – and we know how to use it! 🤖
Behind every great technology are the people who master it. We recently hosted an incredible AI Masterclasses Workshop, where our AI Guild and Women’s Network Łódź joined forces to empower our team with practical, hands-on AI knowledge. 🤝

Our virtual screens was buzzing with energy as we explored the AI landscape at Commerzbank. From the basics of available tools to the capabilities of our internal, secure version of ChatGPT, we focused on one goal: turning AI solutions into support for our everyday work. 💡

What did we dive into?

🚀 Our internal AI assistant in practice – exploring its roadmap, new features, and the best "tips & tricks" for data extraction.

🚀 Mastering LLMs – understanding the Large Language Models available at Commerzbank and how to integrate them into our daily workflows.

🚀 Smart prompting – learning how to communicate with AI effectively and securely.

Communication: The ultimate dev tool! 🚀
On April 14th, we returned to the Lodz University of Technology (Faculty of FTIMS) for an inspiring session with Michał Łuczyński, Scrum Master & Change Agent at Commerzbank. 🎓🏢

Michał led a remote lecture titled "Why communication is a must for an IT developer?", breaking down common myths along the way.

What is communication NOT?
It’s not about talking the most, being a frontliner, speaking fluently in public, or always having something to add. 🗣️❌

What IS it then?
It is an essential, masterable skill that you adapt depending on the context of each situation. For a developer, it’s the bridge between a complex line of code and a working business solution. 💻🤝

For us, being a great dev is about more than just syntax—it’s about how we connect and solve problems together. Thank you to the students for the great energy and to Michał for sharing his expertise!
