Different generations bring different experiences, values and communication styles to the workplace.
Instead of seeing these differences as a challenge, we can treat them as an opportunity to better understand each other and work together with respect. 🤝

Yesterday, we had the opportunity to take part in the webinar “Generational Bridges: How to Understand Each Other and Collaborate Across Generations”, led by Hort.

The session focused on a topic that is very present in today’s workplace: how different generations, from Baby Boomers and Gen X to Millennials and Gen Z, may approach work, communication, feedback and collaboration in different ways.

At Commerzbank, we believe that inclusive collaboration starts with curiosity: asking questions instead of making assumptions, listening to understand, and recognizing that every generation brings something valuable to the table. 🌱

Our Banking Academy at DTC Łódź is growing 🌿

Banking knowledge grows best when it is shared. 💡
This is the idea behind our series of face-to-face workshops designed to deepen banking and financial knowledge across CIO-CC. After successful editions in Sofia and Prague, the initiative was extended to DTC Łódź, jointly organized by Chapter Leads Aleksandra Pirek, Małgorzata Krajewska and Michał Maciejewski.

The workshops are delivered by internal experts from Frankfurt, Prague and Sofia, who share not only knowledge, but also practical experience from different banking domains. And there is more to come.

A big thank you to all experts, organizers and participants who make the Banking Academy a space for learning, collaboration and curiosity. 👏

🚀 An internship can be the beginning of a career journey you never expected.
That was the case for Julia Marcinkowska, who joined Commerzbank through the TalentBank internship program as a Python Developer.

What started with writing code and developing new functionalities soon became an opportunity to explore a completely different side of technology. During her career at Commerzbank, Julia stepped into the role of Product Owner, gaining valuable experience in product development, stakeholder collaboration and turning business needs into technical solutions.

💬“During my internship, I was mainly responsible for writing code and implementing new features. As a Product Owner, I learned how to look at a product from a broader perspective and better understand the needs behind every feature. Today, I'm back in a developer role and I use those experiences every day.”

A strong learning culture is not built only through formal programs. It also grows in everyday moments, when colleagues share what they know, create space for conversation and help others feel more confident with new topics.💡

That is exactly the idea behind Brown Bag Sessions in our Key Area CIO CC. These informal meetings are created by colleagues, for colleagues. They bring people together to exchange knowledge, discuss practical topics and learn from real experience in a relaxed atmosphere.

One of the recent sessions focused on Everyday AI and GitHub Copilot. But beyond the topic itself, this session showed something equally important: employee engagement in action.

Colleagues took ownership of an idea, brought a relevant subject to the table and helped others understand how new technologies can support everyday work, safely, responsibly and practically. This is what meaningful employee experience looks like: people feeling encouraged to contribute, share their perspective and support one another’s growth.

Thank you to Kinga Pielas and Mikołaj Mikołajczyk for driving the initiative, and to Tomasz Dębski and Gabriel Ramos for sharing their know-how and practical perspective.

Public speaking rarely starts with confidence. More often, it starts with a racing heart, unsure hands, and one very honest thought: “What am I even doing here?” 🎤

The first attempt will probably not be perfect.
The second one may still feel uncomfortable.
But each try makes the next one a little easier.

During our Coffee Learning Session, we focused on public speaking, not as a talent you either have or don’t have, but as a skill you can practice, shape, and grow over time.

What did participants appreciate most?
✅ Practical knowledge in a nutshell.
✅ Concrete tips they could use right away.
✅ A dynamic workshop format.
✅ A great sense of humor from the speaker.
✅ And, most importantly, an open group ready to share experiences and try things out.

Bright minds + real-world challenges = real impact 💡

This year we joined UniLodz, an interdisciplinary challenge organized by the University of Łódź, where students and PhD candidates worked on solutions for social, environmental, and urban challenges.

For is, it was great chance to step outside and share something practical from our world, real business perspective, technology know-how, and a bit of encouragement along the way. 🤝

A special shout-out to our colleagues who represented Commerzbank, thank you for sharing your time, energy, and experience 💛
🔹Antoni Łęcki (Chapter Lead), joined the competition jury, bringing his experience in connecting technology with business needs and supporting the evaluation of projects through a practical lens.
🔹Adrian Maksalon (Software Engineer) supported participants as a mentor, helping teams shape their ideas, sharing his knowledge of test automation and practical AI implementation to help them refine their prototypes. 🧠

One of the best parts? Watching ideas evolve in real time, from first concepts to wellstructured projects fueled by teamwork and creativity.. 👏

Congratulations to all the participants and winners, and thank you to the University of Łódź for creating a space where academia and business can learn from each other. 🚀

Work looks a little different through a child’s eyes 🎨

As part of Children’s Day, we invited the kids of our employees to show us what “my parent at work” means to them.
Drawings, LEGO builds, collages, short videos, each one telling a different story, full of imagination, honesty and unexpected details.

Because behind every role, there’s a person. And often, a parent, too.
For us, creating a good place to work also means making space for real life, including its family side. 💛
That’s why, alongside this initiative, we also joined a session on children’s mental wellbeing, focusing on how to recognize early signs of anxiety and where to look for support.

Different moments, one shared intention: to build a culture that sees people as they are, beyond their job titles.
