you know what's funny about being a ghostwriter ??

you open canva to repurpose your writing into visual content..right?

then the alignment
then you notice spacing
then the font feels slightly off
then suddenly, u r 40 minutes deep into something that wasn't even supposed to be your job....right??

and that's the real problem starts
It's not just the 40 minutes
It's the interruption

your writing paused
your strategy gets pushed back
your next client task is in waiting list

good visual make things look better....no
it's about getting that off your plate

📌p.s. what's worse: starting design from scratch or getting the spacing/alignment look better in that design?

You didn’t start ghostwriting to become a Canva expert

But somehow, a simple client post turns into:

“Which font looks better?”
“Why is this spacing weird?”
“Wait… how do I export this?”

And suddenly, 30 minutes are gone

The annoying part isn't Canva itself
It’s that every minute you spend fixing a design is a minute you’re not writing, talking to clients, or finding your next one

You don't need another Canva tutorial
You need someone who can take the design part off your plate

You write
I design
You deliver more

P.S. If Canva is eating into your writing time, how many hours do you think you lose to it every week??

Last night, I lost a potential client

But I gained something else: respect
Around 6 PM, I received a message from a person

A mutual friend had referred him to me because he needed a social media poster designed

We started discussing the project
He explained what he wanted
I asked for the details I needed
We discussed the structure, colours, typography, logos & everything else

By the time all the requirements were shared, the project was clear

So I quoted my price
Then, around 10:30 PM, he sent me a voice note

He calmly explained that their budget was quite a bit lower than my quoted price, so unfortunately they couldn't move forward

And honestly?

I liked the way he said no
He didn't disrespect my price
He didn't try to make me feel that my work wasn't worth it
He didn't drag the conversation into endless bargaining

He simply told me the truth:
Their budget didn't match my price
And he said that if something comes up in the future, they'd be happy to work together

No deal
No payment
No project

But I still walked away genuinely impressed by the way he handled the conversation

It reminded me that professionalism isn't only about how you handle a client when they say yes
It's also about how you handle things when the answer is NO

Have you ever had an interaction where you didn't get the deal, but still walked away respecting the person?

P.S. I shared 3 lessons from this interaction in the pinned comment, go check out !!!

Good content can still get ignored

Let me show u how & why with a simple 10-line story

A ghostwriter writes a strong piece of content

But on LinkedIn, people don't read content like documents

They scan
They skim

If the hierarchy, spacing, emphasis & structure are weak → good writing can easily look like average content

That's why packaging matters!!

Because design isn't just decoration
It's about getting attention + making the content easier to understand

Now let's look at it in practice

Option 1

Same words + average structure + average packaging
→ chances of getting read?

Option 2

Same words + better structure + better packaging
→ better chance of getting read, right?

The words didn't change
The message didn't change

Only the way it was presented changed

So now tell me

Do u still think good writing doesn't need good design to perform better?
