Most homepages don't fail because of design.
They fail because nobody decided what the visitor should do first.
Here's the structure behind pages that actually convert:
One job per page.
Pick the single action you want. Everything else either supports it or gets cut.
The 5-second hero.
Clear headline. One line of support. One button. That's the whole job of the top of the page.
Proof, early.
Trust starts above the fold. A logo, a stat, a real quote, before you ask for anything.
One path down the page.
Momentum beats menus. Every section should point toward the same action.
Say it again.
Repeat the ask once visitors are ready. Same words, same button. Once at the top, once at the bottom.
A pretty homepage that doesn't convert is just an expensive brochure.
If yours looks good but isn't performing, the fix is usually structural, not visual.
