Lahore College for Women University Expands Global Reach Through ACU Engagement

Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) is taking a significant step toward expanding its global footprint by pursuing membership of the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU). In this regard, Ms. Kathryn Jack, Lead β€” Pakistan,(ACU Head of Membership and Events and Membership Engagement)
visited LCWU on April 29, 2026, to engage with the university's senior faculty members, Deans, and Directors.

During her visit, Ms. Kathryn Jack introduced the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), highlighting its global network that connects universities across multiple regions including Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas. She elaborated on how ACU serves as a platform for policy engagement, academic collaboration, and capacity building among member institutions.

She particularly emphasised the wide range of funding opportunities available through ACU, including grants for gender equality projects, research fellowships, mobility programmes, and fully funded scholarships such as the Commonwealth Scholarships. She also shared details about expert group fellowships and collaborative research grants that enable faculty and students to engage in impactful, policy-relevant research at an international level.

Furthermore, she explained the role of ACU Ambassadors, describing them as key connectors within institutions who facilitate communication, share opportunities, and strengthen engagement between universities and the global ACU network.

This engagement reflects the university's commitment to building meaningful international partnerships that go beyond the classroom β€” creating pathways for student mobility, academic collaboration, and global exposure. The academic leadership of the university emphasised that education must connect with the world, enabling students to become active contributors to the global economy.
