Online retail in Pakistan is finally maturing, and with it comes a problem most new e-commerce businesses do not see coming.
The website sells well. Orders come in 24 by 7. But behind the scenes, the store, the inventory, the accounting, and the dispatch team all operate in their own little universes.
The symptoms show up quickly:
Customers buy items that are actually out of stock, because the website does not know what the warehouse has shipped today.
Orders sit for two days before anyone in dispatch notices them.
Refunds take a week because finance has no automatic link to the e-commerce platform.
Monthly reconciliation between Shopify, WooCommerce, COD partners, and the accounting system becomes a part-time job for one unlucky person.
The fix is not ‘add more people.’ It is integration. A proper e-commerce to ERP connection means orders, stock, customers, payments, and returns all flow automatically between systems.
Done right, the same team that struggled with 50 orders a day can comfortably handle 500. The store scales because the operations behind it can.
