Freelancers aren't the problem. Depending on them is.
Most agencies figure this out after a project goes sideways. A freelancer goes quiet mid-build, a deadline gets missed, and suddenly you're the one apologizing to a client who doesn't care about the backstory. They just know you didn't deliver.
