Syed Azfar Hussain, Project Director of NIC Karachi, represented Pakistan’s startup ecosystem as a panelist at Startup Village 2026 – International Technology Conference, held at the Skolkovo Innovation Center in Russia. Joining global accelerator leaders, investors, and innovation experts from around the world, Mr. Azfar participated in a high-level discussion on international accelerator technologies, emerging innovation ecosystems, and the growing importance of cross-border collaboration. During the session, he highlighted Pakistan’s rapidly evolving digital economy, the progress of its startup ecosystem, and the opportunities for stronger partnerships between Pakistan and Russia through accelerator programs, technology exchange, and startup market access initiatives.
A significant outcome of the visit was the signing of a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between NIC Karachi and the Skolkovo Foundation, marking an important step toward strengthening innovation and entrepreneurship ties between the two countries. The partnership aims to foster collaboration in startup acceleration, incubation, technology commercialization, knowledge exchange, investor connectivity, and cross-border ecosystem development. This engagement reflected NIC Karachi’s continued commitment to creating global opportunities for Pakistani founders and building meaningful international partnerships that enable startups to scale, innovate, and create lasting impact beyond borders.
